Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Doug McSwain!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Booth looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Booth throws a combination but it was largely blocked by McSwain.
McSwain staying out of range there.
Booth tries to close the distance and clinch but McSwain swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Booth misses with a few strikes there.
McSwain punishes Booth's body with a nice straight punch.

McSwain gets a clinch.
McSwain lands an uppercut.
McSwain drops down looking for an ankle pick but Booth pulls his leg out and moves away.
Booth jabbing away but nothing is landing.
McSwain dodges the punch combination from Booth.
Booth misses with a jab, cross combination.
Booth shoots in for a double leg but McSwain sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Booth is breathing heavily.

McSwain connects with a solid leg kick.
McSwain ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

McSwain gets through Booth's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
McSwain cracks Booth with a nice body shot.

McSwain gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

McSwain throws and elbow that misses. Booth uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in McSwain's guard. Nice move by Booth!

McSwain wants to sweep here but Booth controlling him for the moment.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McSwain is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Booth wants to lay and pray for a moment but McSwain keeps working.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and McSwain counters with a nice body shot.
McSwain scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
McSwain throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
McSwain lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Booth at a distance.
John Wilkes Booth seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
McSwain connects with a looping right hand.

and McSwain counters with a stiff right hand.
McSwain fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

McSwain feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
McSwain stays in close to Booth's body and controls the position.

McSwain is stalling here. Booth is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! McSwain seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Booth has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well McSwain has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
