Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michael Shifflett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bahamut Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson has chosen Invincible as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Shifflett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bahamut Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Steve Montenegro and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shifflett doesn't manage to clinch there - Johnson circles away.
Johnson pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Shifflett wants to clinch up but Johnson keeps it at a distance.
Johnson stuffs the takedown.

Johnson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Shifflett sprawls well initially but Johnson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Johnson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Shifflett wants to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Johnson connects with a nice short shot to Shifflett's temple.

I looks like Johnson might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Shifflett takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Johnson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Shifflett's guard.

Well Johnson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
