Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jan Haymaker Mathisen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fernando Cabresco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fernando Cabresco is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Fernando Cabresco! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cabresco displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mathisen. Mathisen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Cabresco is fending him off so far but Mathisen persists. Nope, Cabresco circles away and we're back to standing. Mathisen avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Jan Haymaker Mathisen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mathisen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Cabresco is fending him off so far but Mathisen persists. Mathisen throws a head kick that misses and Cabresco counters by clinching up. Cabresco gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Mathisen.

It looks like Fernando Cabresco has been cut. Mathisen pulls guard effortlessly. Cabresco wants to stand but Mathisen has a closed guard, so he can't escape. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cabresco accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Cabresco being controlled here momentarily. Mathisen might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Cabresco throws a big right hand that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cabresco pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mathisen is keeping the position for now. Mathisen has his hands on Cabresco's head, controlling the position. Mathisen wants to stand and escape but Cabresco is having none of it. Mathisen keeping moving, preventing Cabresco from controlling successfully.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Cabresco rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mathisen moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Mathisen shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Cabresco counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Cabresco looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Still in half guard, Cabresco seems content to control. Cabresco prevents Mathisen from improving his position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mathisen is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cabresco thows a huge punch but Mathisen dodges it nicely.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Mathisen with a lazy takedown attempt and Cabresco makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Cabresco looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mathisen is fending him off so far but Cabresco persists. Nope, Mathisen circles away and we're back to standing. Mathisen lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Cabresco rushes Mathisen and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Nice elbow from Mathisen.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cabresco fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Mathisen has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Cabresco is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Cabresco is trying to trip Mathisen. He has hold of a leg but Mathisen is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Cabresco persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Mathisen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cabresco's guard. Cabresco is pulling down on Mathisen's head. It's preventing any offense from Mathisen, at least for the moment. Cabresco keeping moving, preventing Mathisen from controlling successfully. Mathisen tries to stand but Cabresco is controlling from the bottom. Mathisen looking to sit in guard and control but Cabresco gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cabresco wants to pass the guard but Mathisen is keeping the position. Mathisen managing to control the position. Cabresco wants to control from the top but Mathisen keeps moving. Mathisen has his hands on Cabresco's head, controlling the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fernando Cabresco dominated that round. The cut man is working on Fernando Cabresco's cut. That's time! Mathisen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Cabresco gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Mathisen to score an easy takedown into full guard. Cabresco utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Cabresco seems keen to control Mathisen's posture. Mathisen trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Cabresco manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Mathisen is controlling Cabresco's posture.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cabresco postures up and lands a big shot to Mathisen's brow. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mathisen wants to get back to his feet but Cabresco passes into half guard.

Mathisen is trying to maintain the position but Cabresco is very close to passing his half guard. Mathisen gets back to full guard.
Mathisen can't keep his opponent in guard - Cabresco advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Cabresco is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Cabresco not doing much here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mathisen trying to hold on to Cabresco's head to control him but Cabresco postures up.
Mathisen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Cabresco is keen to just control but Mathisen is a slippery customer. Mathisen has his hands clasped together around Cabresco's back. He's all about the action. Cabresco wants to control but Mathisen is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cabresco is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mathisen doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cabresco.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Mathisen is looking to clinch but Cabresco is avoiding it.
Cabresco gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Mathisen trying to control but Cabresco is working from the bottom. Cabresco has an active guard here but Mathisen has managed to pass into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mathisen thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Cabresco looking for submissions off his back. Mathisen is nestled in close to Cabresco, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Cabresco wants to improve his position but Mathisen is controlling well.

Mathisen has his takedown stuffed and Cabresco counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Mathisen's guard now. Cabresco passes into half guard. Mathisen is not content to let Cabresco control the position. Cabresco scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Mathisen trying to hold on to Cabresco's head to control him but Cabresco postures up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Cabresco tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Nice takedown defense from Mathisen. No joy for Cabresco on that attempt. No luck for Mathisen with that takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jan Haymaker Mathisen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mathisen doesn't succeed with the takedown and Cabresco counters with a straight right hand. Jan Haymaker Mathisen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Cabresco lands with a nice body punch. Cabresco tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mathisen swats him away and circles back towards the center. Mathisen rushes Cabresco and presses him up against the cage. Mathisen has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Cabresco is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Cabresco manages to pull guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Mathisen stands up over Cabresco, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Cabresco trying to keep a closed guard but Mathisen is proving a slippery customer.
Mathisen would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Mathisen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Mathisen makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Mathisen stopping the sweep attempt from Cabresco. Cabresco seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Mathisen clinches. Mathisen tries to pull guard but Cabresco won't allow it.
Cabresco decides to pull guard. Mathisen throwing strikes but missing. Mathisen in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Mathisen controls from within his opponent's guard. Cabresco is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cabresco taking a breather. Cabresco tries to land knees in the clinch but Mathisen avoids the damage to the body. Mathisen gets control of Cabresco's arms and successfully pulls guard. Mathisen will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Mathisen wants to get back to his feet but Cabresco is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Mathisen looking to control.

And that's the end of the fight! Fernando Cabresco comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Cabresco has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
