Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Gerald Young I! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Rob Salek! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Andrew Berry and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Young I fails in his attempt to clinch. Salek displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Young I. Young I scores with a takedown into Salek's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Young I prevents Salek from getting back to his feet. Young I with a flurry of punches that miss. Salek keeping moving, preventing Young I from controlling successfully. Salek wants to stand but Young I is controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Young I accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Salek manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Young I misses with a two punch combination.
Salek is looking to clinch but Young I is avoiding it.
Young I throws a body punch but Salek moves out of range. Young I wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Young I shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Young I showed some decent athleticism there. Salek is staying active underneath Young I, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Young I controlling the action here. Young I throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Young I in particular looking to stall. Young I stands up out of the half guard. Salek looks gassed! Young I keeps the fight on the outside. Salek tries to clinch but fails miserably and Young I decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Salek's guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Young I seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Young I stands and steps away. Salek gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Young I drives through with a takedown into guard. Young I decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Salek, up you get! Young I shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Salek manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Salek is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Young I is controlling him. Young I scoring with punches to the head and body. Salek wants to stand and escape but Young I is having none of it. Young I trying to control the position from guard on top but Salek is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Young I working some strikes from top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Young I wants to control from the top but Salek keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Young I is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Young I accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Young I is stalling in the full guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gerald Young I dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Young I has Salek up against the cage in a clinch.
Young I is trying to force a seperation but Salek has the dominant position. Young I tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Salek just stands there and leans against the cage. Salek throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Young I lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Salek is not content to let Young I control the position. Young I sitting and controlling from the half guard. Salek is refusing to be controlled, as Young I sits in half guard. Young I stands up from half guard. Salek is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Salek misses with a wild body shot. Young I dodges the punch combination from Salek.
Young I takes the fight into the clinch. Salek throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Young I working hard to break the clinch. Salek wants to get back to striking at distance but Young I won't allow it.
Salek is pressed up against the cage. Young I has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Salek down to the mat. Salek avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Danga de danga de dang - Young I scores with a four punch combination! Young I fails with an attempt to clinch.
It's a brutal combination of punches from Young I! Salek is backing up but he can't get away as Young I lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Salek and ends the fight. Great knockout.
