Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sergei Bautin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bautin kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Lobotomy. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Sergei Bautin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, David Smith! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, William Gold and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bautin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Smith. Bautin lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Smith at a distance.
Bautin paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
It looks like David Smith has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bautin misses with a wild body shot. Smith throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bautin fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Bautin swats away the attempt to clinch by Smith. Bautin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. The fight stays on the outside here - Smith looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Bautin lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Smith darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Bautin is looking for a sweep. Smith is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Bautin wants to control but Smith is keeping busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Bautin! Bautin has given up his back here.
Bautin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smith on the ground. Smith misses with punches from the back. Bautin trying to control the hands but Smith won't let him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Bautin holding both Smith 's hands and preventing any damage. Bautin avoids the strikes from Smith. Bautin can't escape the position.

Smith controls the action. Bautin trying to control the hands but Smith breaks the grip.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith struggling to land strikes to the head as Bautin covers up. Smith controlling from the back. Smith has the hooks in. Bautin is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Bautin is working hard here to advance position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Smith throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage. Smith is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Bautin defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Bautin just trying to survive but Smith is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Bautin tries to break free.
What can Bautin do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Bautin controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. Smith keeps control of the position easily here as Bautin tries to buck him off.

Sergei Bautin dominated that round. The cut man is working on David Smith's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Bautin punishes Smith's body with a nice straight punch. Bautin tries to clinch and Smith moves into the clinch. Smith content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Smith swings wildly with an uppercut but Bautin uses good head movement to avoid it. Smith is working for takedown but Bautin is calmly controlling the position for now. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Smith tries to throw a body punch but Bautin avoids it by throwing Smith back against the cage. Bautin is trying to force a seperation but Smith has the dominant position. Smith lands an uppercut. Bautin blocks a body shot from Smith. Smith throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Bautin blocks a body shot from Smith. Bautin tries to break free but Smith pushes him back against the cage. Bautin looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Smith doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Bautin trying to control the position but instead, Smith has worked for underhooks and has pushed Bautin into the cage. Bautin tries to circle away but Smith has him pinned against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith struggles to land a body shot inside as Bautin controls his hands.

Smith has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Bautin is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Sergei Bautin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Smith. Bautin wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Bautin is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Smith struggles to land a body shot inside as Bautin controls his hands.
Bautin has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Smith is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Bautin gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Bautin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Smith closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Smith jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bautin walks away with a smile on his face. Smith gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Bautin catches Smith with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Bautin stuns Smith with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Smith is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bautin cracks Smith with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Smith looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Bautin finish him?
Sergei Bautin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. BOOM! Bautin lands a beautiful left hook that drops Smith. Smith tries to recover but Bautin is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Smith lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
