Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, James Hellwig!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Devon Garcia!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Colin Fotheringham and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hellwig keeps the fight on the outside.
Garcia lands with a nice combination. Hellwig backs away looking to recover.
Garcia tries to close the distance and clinch but Hellwig swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Garcia wants to clinch.
Hellwig shoots for a double leg takedown but Garcia sprawls well. He's pushed Hellwig's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hellwig throws a push kick but Garcia slaps the foot to one side.

Hellwig shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Garcia manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Hellwig stops Garcia from standing up.
Hellwig trying to stand up but can't free himself from Garcia's guard.

Hellwig stands and steps away. Garcia gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Garcia wants to clinch.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Garcia tries to clinch but Hellwig is having none of it.
Garcia defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hellwig.

Hellwig closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Garcia seems a little lost for a moment, as Hellwig dominates the positioning.

Garcia tries to bench press Hellwig off him but Hellwig keeps the position.
Garcia is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Hellwig asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Hellwig decides to stand up, so the ref orders Garcia to his feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Garcia doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Hellwig holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Hellwig tries for a takedown. No joy.

Garcia misses with a short punch on the inside.

Hellwig has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Garcia is trying to keep an underhook but Hellwig manages to get the takedown into half guard.

and Garcia counters with a three punch combo that has Hellwig backing up. Hellwig nods at Garcia to acknowledge the strikes.

Hellwig fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Garcia is out of range.
Garcia shoots and misses

and Hellwig counters with a shoot takedown. Garcia fights it but they end up in guard.
Hellwig is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Hellwig wants to stand but Garcia is controlling his posture from full guard.
Hellwig has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Garcia is breathing heavily.
Hellwig slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hellwig tries to stand but Garcia is controlling from the bottom.

Hellwig sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Garcia's guard.

Hellwig escapes and gets back to his feet.

Hellwig closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Garcia to the mat! Garcia manages to get full guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Garcia looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hellwig is one step ahead there.

Hellwig decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Garcia, up you get!

and Garcia decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hellwig's guard.
Hellwig wants to get back to his feet but Garcia is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Garcia wants to control from the top but Hellwig keeps moving.
Hellwig manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Garcia wants to hold on but Hellwig pushes him away.

Hellwig looking to control and managing it successfully.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee stands the fighters back up. James Hellwig just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Garcia takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Hellwig tries for a takedown but Garcia sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Hellwig shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Hellwig decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
James Hellwig showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hellwig, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
