Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between George Blinn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and ohene appiah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, George Blinn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, ohene appiah!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Saam Ante and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blinn wants to clinch up but appiah keeps it at a distance.
appiah closes this distance looking for a takedown but Blinn circles away.

appiah takes the fight into the clinch.
Blinn prevents the takedown attempt.
Blinn can't break the clinch.
Blinn wants a takedown but no success here.
appiah using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.

appiah manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Blinn won't allow appiah to get back to his feet.
appiah not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

appiah throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
appiah trying to control the position.
appiah might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Blinn kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Blinn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. appiah swivels though and keeps the full guard.

appiah wants to sweep here but Blinn controlling him for the moment.
Blinn looking to sit in guard and control but appiah gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
appiah wants to control from the top but Blinn keeps moving.
Blinn looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but appiah puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
appiah takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

appiah is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
appiah looks gassed!
appiah prevents Blinn from standing back up.
appiah is just content to waste time from the top position. Blinn takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Blinn wants to get back to his feet but appiah is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
appiah thows a big elbow that misses.
appiah wants to control from the top but Blinn keeps moving.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
No luck for appiah with that takedown attempt.
George Blinn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of ohene appiah.
Blinn misses with the combination.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
appiah plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Blinn throws a combination but it was largely blocked by appiah.
Blinn tries to clinch but appiah moves away

and appiah counters with a takedown into side control.
appiah wants to control but Blinn is keeping him busy.
appiah fails to land a wild elbow strike.
appiah wants to control but Blinn is keeping him busy.
appiah has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Blinn!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


appiah fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

appiah gets a clinch.
Blinn has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Blinn wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
appiah lands a good knee to the midsection. Blinn won't want to take too many of those.
appiah has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Blinn is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Blinn prevents a takedown attempt there.
George Blinn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of ohene appiah.
Blinn tries to circle away but appiah has him pinned against the cage.

appiah breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
appiah ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Blinn moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Blinn closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming appiah to the mat! appiah manages to get full guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Blinn trying to control the position from guard on top but appiah is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Blinn looking to sit in guard and control but appiah gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
appiah wants to control from the top but Blinn keeps moving.
Blinn is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Blinn keeping full guard, as appiah tries to pass.
Blinn keeping moving, preventing appiah from controlling successfully.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
An inside leg kick from Blinn misses.
appiah shoots and misses

and Blinn counters with a shoot takedown. appiah fights it but they end up in guard.

Blinn avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
appiah looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
appiah tries to strike from the bottom.

appiah has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Blinn off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Blinn wants to clinch but appiah slips to the side

and appiah counters by moving into the clinch.
Blinn prevents a takedown attempt there.
appiah wants a takedown but no success here.
Blinn jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as appiah walks away with a smile on his face. Blinn gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Blinn keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
George Blinn is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
appiah fails with a takedown attempt.
Blinn misses with a series of wild punches.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
appiah shoots in for a takedown but Blinn shows good takedown defense.
A head kick from appiah lands but Blinn takes it in his stride.

appiah clinches up against the cage.

appiah breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
appiah is looking to land body kicks.
Blinn misses with a double jab.

appiah shoots in and bounces Blinn off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Blinn looking to hit a scissor sweep but appiah is one step ahead there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that George Blinn will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Blinn shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Blinn was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Blinn avoids the attempt from appiah to control.
Blinn wants to control the pace but appiah is squirming around nicely.
appiah wants to try and get back to his feet.
appiah is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
appiah stops Blinn from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
appiah is desperately trying to improve his position but Blinn has a good base and remains in mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Blinn working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
appiah wants to hold on but Blinn pushes him away.
appiah tries to reverse the position but Blinn maintains control.
appiah wants to control but Blinn is having none of it.
appiah trying desperately to get to his feet.

Blinn looking to isolate an arm here. appiah doesn't see it coming and as Blinn extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Blinn!
