Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jason Alan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rommel Agomaa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rommel Agomaa will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Alan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rommel Agomaa!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Steve Erwin and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Agomaa shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Alan but Alan pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Alan keeps the fight on the outside.
Agomaa tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
An inside leg kick lands from Alan.
Alan misses with a head kick.
Alan slips a jab from Agomaa.

Alan gets a takedown into half guard.

Alan is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Agomaa wants to get back to his feet.

Alan is trying to work for a kimura but Agomaa is defending well.

Alan is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Alan wants to work for an arm triangle but Agomaa is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Alan is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Agomaa has managed to free his arm - good work.
Agomaa pushes Alan off looking to stand but Alan dives back in and keeps control.

Alan is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Agomaa is just riding it out for now. Alan eventually gives up the hold.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Agomaa shoots in looking for a takedown. Alan tries to sprawl out of it but Agomaa keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Alan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Alan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Agomaa looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Alan tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Agomaa is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Agomaa parries the strikes from Alan easily there. Alan is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Agomaa to escape.
Agomaa wants to get back to his feet but Alan drags him back down.
Agomaa is looking to get back to his feet here but Alan is keeping cool and he's managed to take Agomaa's back.

Alan cracks Agomaa with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Agomaa from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.

Alan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Alan is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Agomaa has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Agomaa tries to clinch but Alan moves out of range.
Alan throws a right and a left that Agomaa avoids nicely.
Alan dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Alan fails to land the takedown.
Alan moves out of range as Agomaa strikes.
Alan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Agomaa moves away.
Alan swats away the attempt to clinch by Agomaa.
Agomaa tries to clinch up but Alan circles away and keeps his distance.
Agomaa throws out a powerful jab.
Agomaa throws a lazy right hand but Alan sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Good leg kick by Alan there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Alan explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Alan throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Agomaa.
Agomaa on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Agomaa showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Alan.
Agomaa thows a body shot but no joy.

Alan takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.


It looks like Jason Alan has been cut.
Agomaa dodges the punch combination from Alan.

and Alan counters with a big head kick but Agomaa shrugs it off.
Alan looks to land a combination but Agomaa avoids it well.
Agomaa throws a leg kick
and Agomaa takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Alan lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Agomaa tries to land a body kick

and Alan counters with a takedown into side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Agomaa can do anything to dispel that myth.
Agomaa is breathing heavily.
An elbow from Alan crashes against the mat.
Agomaa dodges the ground and pound from Alan.
Alan lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Agomaa down.
Agomaa tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Agomaa is trying to stand but he's just given Alan his back.
