Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vitor Belfort (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fernando Torres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Torres has chosen Eu Quero Ver o Oco as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Vitor Belfort! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fernando Torres! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Seu Braga and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Belfort fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Belfort closes this distance looking for a takedown but Torres circles away. Belfort fails with a takedown attempt from distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vitor Belfort. That's going to take a lot out of him. Torres pushes Belfort up against the cage in a clinch. Torres is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Torres lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Torres gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Torres lands with a cross. Torres darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Torres prevents Belfort from improving his position. Torres is thwarting Belfort's attempts to control the position. Torres content to control rather than advance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Torres tries to pass the half guard into mount. Belfort knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Torres passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Belfort! Belfort is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Torres sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Belfort tries to hold on but Torres pushes him away. Belfort is working to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Belfort is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Belfort is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Belfort sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Torres is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Belfort is trying to control but Torres manages to pass to mount!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Torres content just to control the position here. Torres has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Belfort's face.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Belfort in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Torres lands a big shot there that rocks Belfort but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Belfort wants to control but Torres is having none of it. Belfort gets back to half guard. Torres looks gassed! Belfort moves into full guard.
Torres looking to pass the guard. Belfort isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Torres stacks Belfort on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Torres! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Torres takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Torres gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Belfort thows a big elbow that misses. Belfort wants to stand and escape but instead Torres has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Torres looking to pass the guard. Belfort has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Torres can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Torres is in close to Belfort's body, working some short punches and elbows.
That's one minute gone in the round. Belfort looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Torres really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Belfort. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Belfort working a defensive guard here.

Torres slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Torres postures up.
Belfort throws his legs up looking for a submission but Torres uses it to pass to side control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Belfort scores with a three punch combo!
Belfort fails with the takedown and Torres counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Belfort! Torres thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Belfort is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Belfort tries to hold on but Torres pushes him away. Torres looking to control but Belfort is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Belfort tries to lock up and control but Torres gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Torres cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Torres cracks Belfort with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Belfort is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Belfort is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Fernando Torres will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Belfort tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad. Torres working for a submission but Belfort is keeping him at bay. Torres controlling the pace for now. Belfort is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Torres breaks from Belfort's wrist control and lands an elbow. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Torres cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Torres with the ground and pound from mount. Torres looking to control and managing it successfully. Belfort is squirming around, avoiding Torres's attempts to control the action. Vitor Belfort has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Belfort is wriggling around trying to escape.
Belfort tries to lock up and control but Torres gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Belfort is trying to stand up. Belfort is in all sorts of trouble here.

You can see the frustration on Belfort's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Torres is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Torres gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Torres gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Torres apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Torres closes the distance and pushes Belfort back into the cage. Torres has Belfort pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Torres pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Belfort tumbling to the mat - Torres dives into Belfort's guard. Belfort working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Torres doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Torres manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Belfort keeping moving, preventing Torres from controlling successfully. Torres thows a big elbow that misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Torres looking to pass the guard. Belfort is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Belfort is looking for a triangle but Torres pushes his legs off easily.
Torres stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Belfort swivels though and keeps the full guard. Belfort is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Torres is on the wrong end of a couple of strikes there. Fernando Torres is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Belfort throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
And that's the end of the fight! Fernando Torres comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Torres winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
