Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Donnovan McKinney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott has chosen We Are One - 12 Stones as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Donnovan McKinney! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jason Scott! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McKinney looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Scott is fending him off so far but McKinney persists. Nope, Scott circles away and we're back to standing. Scott misses with the combination.
Scott looks to land a combination but McKinney avoids it well. McKinney shoots in and drives through. Scott sprawls well. Scott is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Scott shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches McKinney napping and manages to drive through into side control! Scott decides to stand back up. Scott steps back and let's McKinney get back to his feet. McKinney changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Scott looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Scott wants to get back to his feet. Scott is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on McKinney's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. McKinney is working for a submission of some sort.
Scott is trying to maintain the position but McKinney is very close to passing his half guard. McKinney trying to mount his opponent but Scott defends it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scott is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Scott is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but McKinney pulls his head out easily. McKinney is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
McKinney is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Scott sees it coming and defends easily. Scott looking for submissions off his back. McKinney wants to free his trapped foot but Scott is holding on for dear life with his legs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Scott forces McKinney back against the cage and clinches. McKinney wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Donnovan McKinney. That's going to take a lot out of him. McKinney is breathing heavily. Scott wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
McKinney lands a takedown into guard.
Scott working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McKinney doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McKinney manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Scott is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

McKinney wants to lay and pray for a moment but Scott keeps working. McKinney is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Scott defends it well. Scott tries to roll over but McKinney keeps him under control. McKinney moves nicely into side control. McKinney looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Scott is not content to let McKinney control the position. Scott is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked McKinney off and has taken his back! Scott has McKinney flattened out and is raining down punches. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McKinney turns into Scott and is now in his guard.
Scott looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
McKinney is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Donnovan McKinney will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Scott closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Scott wants to lay and pray for a moment but McKinney keeps working. McKinney is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Scott's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. McKinney is trying to get back to full guard. McKinney looking for submissions off his back. McKinney looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Scott decides to stand and escape the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scott rushes McKinney and presses him up against the cage. McKinney has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Scott is trying to keep an underhook but McKinney manages to get the takedown into half guard. Scott is looking to escape. Scott makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! McKinney shoots and misses and Scott counters with an inside leg kick. Scott fails to land with a series of punches.
Scott shoots and misses and McKinney decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Scott's guard. McKinney drops back, looking for a kneebar! Scott looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Scott looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Scott! Scott trying to control the action but McKinney is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Scott stands up. Scott tries to clinch up. Scott fails to land with a series of punches.
McKinney with a poor takedown and Scott counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. McKinney throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
McKinney is working an open guard so Scott takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Donnovan McKinney is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Scott leaves McKinney with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Donnovan McKinney. That's going to take a lot out of him. Scott lands with a kick to the temple. McKinney shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
That's three minutes gone in the round. Scott moves into range and clinches up with McKinney. McKinney has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Scott is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Scott using the Thai plumb to throw knees but McKinney has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
McKinney is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Scott pulls him back up using the underhooks. Scott tries a knee to the head but McKinney blocks it.
Scott is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Scott is pressed up against the cage. McKinney has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Scott down to the mat. Scott avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Scott misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
McKinney steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Scott. That one must have hurt. Scott tries to clinch but McKinney is having none of it. Scott tries a head kick but it misses.
McKinney shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than McKinney was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! McKinney swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Scott is now in McKinney's guard. A big mistake from McKinney there, giving up the dominant position!

McKinney has a closed guard, preventing Scott from standing up. McKinney escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Scott gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. McKinney looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Scott passes into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Scott passes to side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Jason Scott will probably get the nod - 10:9. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Scott gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and McKinney counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Scott! McKinney working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. McKinney looking to control but Scott is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Scott is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Scott stops McKinney from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. McKinney jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Scott is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Scott and McKinney has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Scott regains half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scott is staying active underneath McKinney, who seems content to just control the action from this position. McKinney is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
McKinney stops Scott from getting back to his feet.
Scott is not content to let McKinney control the position. Scott is looking to escape. McKinney wants to work for an arm triangle but Scott is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
McKinney looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Scott throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Scott is looking to take this fight into the clinch. McKinney misses with a takedown and Scott decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in McKinney's guard. Scott is looking to stand up but McKinney won't let him.

Scott frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. McKinney tries to reverse the position but Scott maintains control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Scott wants to control the pace but McKinney is squirming around nicely. McKinney regains half guard. Scott tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Scott decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. McKinney has his takedown stuffed and Scott counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Scott. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Donnovan McKinney. That's going to take a lot out of him. McKinney escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Scott gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Scott trying to control but McKinney is working from the bottom. Jason Scott has got the better of the ground game so far. Scott might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control McKinney kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
And that's the end of the fight! Jason Scott comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Scott has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
