Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shane Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and anthony dewarte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lesnar comes to the cage accompanied by The Slam. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! dewarte clinches up against the cage. Lesnar misses with a body punch.
dewarte tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Lesnar just stands there and leans against the cage. Lesnar tries to circle away but dewarte has him pinned against the cage. Lesnar tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. dewarte shoots in but Lesnar avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Lesnar might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. dewarte really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Lesnar. Lesnar is in a bad position with dewarte working for a choke. Lesnar manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Lesnar tries to free his leg and advance position but dewarte is retaining full guard. dewarte bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lesnar's guard. dewarte tries to free his leg and advance position but Lesnar is retaining full guard. That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Lesnar is squirming around, avoiding dewarte's attempts to control the action. dewarte with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Lesnar is trying desperately to improve position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Despite being in the dominant position, anthony dewarte just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Lesnar tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but dewarte swivels and escapes. Lesnar gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and dewarte holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. dewarte drags the fight down to the ground.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. There's a bit of a scramble here and now dewarte is on top in guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Shane Lesnar will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

dewarte tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lesnar swats him away and circles back towards the center. A leg kick checked by Lesnar. No luck with that takedown attempt from dewarte. Shane Lesnar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lesnar steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from dewarte. That one must have hurt. dewarte looks for a takedown but Lesnar sprawls well. Both fighters are breathing heavily. dewarte closes the distance and clinches up with Lesnar, looking for a takedown. dewarte pushes Lesnar against the cage but Lesnar circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Shane Lesnar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of anthony dewarte. dewarte circles away from the clinch attempt and dewarte counters with a leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. dewarte closes the distance and clinches up with Lesnar, looking for a takedown. dewarte pushes Lesnar against the cage but Lesnar circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. dewarte fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Lesnar avoids the head kick by dewarte.
dewarte shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lesnar defends it nicely. Lesnar has managed to clinch.

dewarte's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. dewarte instigates a clinch. Lesnar misses with a hook from the clinch.

Lesnar won't allow dewarte to get back to his feet. Lesnar drops back, looking for a kneebar! dewarte looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. dewarte looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from dewarte! dewarte tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. dewarte stands up and we're back to a striking position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. dewarte throws a combination. Lesnar tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Lesnar moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. No luck with that takedown attempt from dewarte. Lesnar feints and as dewarte raises his hands in defense, Lesnar changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Lesnar lands a couple of decent looking shots. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lesnar looking to sit in guard and control but dewarte gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. dewarte trying to control but Lesnar is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. dewarte lying in Lesnar's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. Lesnar decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! dewarte taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
