Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between koln poir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and tj banks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). poir has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. koln poir has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, koln poir! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, tj banks! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Illya Tyunina and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! banks leaves poir with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. poir changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. banks tries to avoid it but poir manages to keep hold of a leg and drag banks to the ground. banks escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. banks fails with a takedown attempt. banks checks a leg kick. poir misses with a takedown and banks counters with a nice double leg into half guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for koln poir. That's going to take a lot out of him. poir is breathing heavily. banks is figuring out what he wants to do next. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. banks lands a nice short elbow. Nice strikes from banks there. banks tries to stand but can't do so whilst poir controls his leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. poir avoiding damage under a succession of punches from banks. banks seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
banks lands with a punch from half guard. banks looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. poir blocking the ground and pound attempt from banks.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. banks fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. poir misses with a takedown attempt - banks sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. banks takes the fight into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. banks tries to break the clinch but poir is controlling the position. poir looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. poir could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. banks looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. banks is looking to break free of the clinch but poir has double underhooks. The referee is keeping an eye on banks - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
banks has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed poir clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Good control from banks. You can see the frustration on poir's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
poir might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. poir is working hard here to advance position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. banks biding his time, controlling poir. banks looking to finish the fight with a rear naked choke. poir is controlling banks 's left arm and he spins nicely into guard. poir trying to control the position from guard on top but banks is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. poir passes into half guard. poir is thwarting banks's attempts to control the position. poir trying to control from half guard but banks is working away. poir sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. banks defending well though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
tj banks dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
poir moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. banks has closed the distance and engaged poir in a clinch.
banks lands a nice shot to the body. poir wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but banks has him pressed against the cage. poir tries to circle away but banks has him pinned against the cage. banks tries to break free but poir pushes him back against the cage. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. banks gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. banks is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. poir trying to control the position.
banks controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. banks is looking to stand up but poir won't let him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. poir keeping full guard, as banks tries to pass. poir is trying to control the position from the bottom.
banks's corner is telling him to maintain position. banks looking to sit in guard and control but poir gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. poir would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. banks wants to hit a switch here but poir passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for banks there! The referee warns banks that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
banks tries to hold on but poir pushes him away. banks is looking to improve his position but poir isn't that keen on the idea. poir in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
That's three minutes gone in the round. poir is standing up, even though he is in mount. poir stuffs the takedown. banks looks for a takedown but poir sprawls well. poir lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but banks circles away quickly and effectively. banks checks a low kick from poir. Nice sprawl there from banks as poir shoots in. banks drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. poir trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. poir keeping full guard, as banks tries to pass.
That's four minutes gone in the round. banks seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. poir not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
poir keeping moving, preventing banks from controlling successfully. poir is looking to stand up but banks isn't so interested in that idea. banks really doesn't want to stay on the ground with poir. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. poir looking for a triangle here. banks is fighting it but it looks tight! poir pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, banks is tapping out - this one is all over!
