Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Geoff Deal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jokke Hansseen!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Aleksandr Martynov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deal avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hansseen takes a kick to the side of the head.
Nice defenses there by Hansseen.
Deal looks for the body kick but Hansseen saw that one coming.
Hansseen fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Deal avoids it really well and circles away.
Deal pivots, looking for a leg kick but Hansseen is out of range and Deal settles back down.
Hansseen takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Deal fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Deal scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Deal scores with a punch to the head.
Hansseen tries to clinch but Deal is having none of it.
Deal throws a low kick but Hansseen avoids it.
A punch lands to the side of Hansseen 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Deal lands a nice looking kick to the body. Hansseen takes a step back to recover.
Deal throws a series of strikes that have Hansseen backpedaling.
Deal pivots, looking for a leg kick but Hansseen is out of range and Deal settles back down.
Deal misses with a jab, cross combination.
Hansseen on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Deal chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Deal, right into the meat.
Hansseen fails to land the takedown.
A slapping body kick lands there for Deal.

Deal gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hansseen to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Hansseen loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Hansseen trying to control the position from guard on top but Deal is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Deal is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Deal's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Hansseen trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Deal manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Deal wants to control from the top but Hansseen keeps moving.
Hansseen looking to hit a scissor sweep but Deal is one step ahead there.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Hansseen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Deal's guard.
Deal not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Deal pulls Hansseen in close to prevent any damage.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Deal is on top in guard.
Hansseen thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Hansseen looking for a sweep. Not yet Hansseen, not yet.
Hansseen is trying to control the position but Deal postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hansseen closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Deal did well to prevent Hansseen getting side control.
Hansseen wants to pass to mount but Deal is defending the position.

Hansseen throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Deal escapes and throws Hansseen's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Deal working away.
Deal is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Hansseen's shoulder. That is not cool.
Hansseen is looking to regain half guard here but Deal keeps moving and retains side control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hansseen prevents Deal from improving position.
You can see the frustration on Hansseen's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Deal moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Deal is looking to take a break and control but Hansseen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Deal wants to control for a moment but Hansseen uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Hansseen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Deal throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Deal lands a with a good body shot.
Nice sprawl there from Deal as Hansseen shoots in.
Hansseen takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Deal takes a swing at Hansseen's ribcage but misses.
Deal leaves Hansseen with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Deal connects with a high kick.
Hansseen has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Deal.

Deal tried to score with a low kick but Hansseen checks it.
Hansseen takes a kick to the side of the head.
Hansseen doesn't manage to clinch there - Deal circles away.
Deal misses the shot to the body.
Hansseen tries to close the distance and clinch but Deal swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Deal misses with a jab, cross combination.
Hansseen moves out of range of the body kick from Deal.
Deal lands a jab to Hansseen's midsection.
A clash of legs there as Hansseen blocks the low kick.
Crunch! Deal slams his shin into Hansseen's torso.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Deal throws a sloppy head kick and Hansseen moves out of range easily.
A nice inside leg kick there by Deal. That's going to slow Hansseen down.
Deal cracks the inside of Hansseen's front leg.
Hansseen tries to clinch up but Deal circles away and keeps his distance.
An inside leg kick lands from Deal.
Deal slaps away a takedown attempt from Hansseen, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Deal comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Deal chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Deal connects with a single shot there.
Deal looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
No luck for Hansseen with that takedown attempt.
Deal is looking to wear down Hansseen with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Hansseen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Deal is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Hansseen had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Deal defends it easily.
Hansseen trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

Hansseen looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Deal has picked Hansseen up and slammed him! Hansseen can't keep hold of the triangle and Deal manages to pass to side control!
Hansseen seems a little lost for a moment, as Deal dominates the positioning.
Hansseen tries to get back to half guard but can't.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Geoff Deal just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Deal with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Geoff Deal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Deal scoring well with a low kick there.
Hansseen shoots in but Deal avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Geoff Deal has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jokke Hansseen.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Deal, right into the meat.
Deal throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hansseen stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Hansseen takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
A head kick misses from Hansseen.
Hansseen's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
A cross from Deal lands.
Deal throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Deal lands with a nice body kick.
Jokke Hansseen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Geoff Deal is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Hansseen takes a head kick and keeps coming.

And that's the end of the fight!
Geoff Deal showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Deal, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
