Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Edgar Poe Wong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jake Turner!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Marco Blurström and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wong buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Turner tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Turner fails with an attempt to clinch.
A nice leg kick lands there from Wong.
Nice takedown defense from Wong. No joy for Turner on that attempt.

Wong shoots in and bounces Turner off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Wong slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Wong decides to stand back up. Wong steps back and let's Turner get back to his feet.
Jake Turner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wong instigates a clinch.
Turner drops down looking for an ankle pick but Wong pulls his leg out and moves away.
Turner shoots for a takedown but Wong saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Edgar Poe Wong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Turner.
Turner misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Wong.

Wong jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Turner walks away with a smile on his face. Wong gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Wong will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Wong keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Wong moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

and Wong counters with a single leg into guard. Turner didn't expect that.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Wong decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Turner, up you get!
Wong throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Turner takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

and Wong counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Wong dodges the punch combination from Turner.

Wong manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Turner fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Wong lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Turner throws a nice looking combination but Wong bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Wong wants to lay and pray for a moment but Turner keeps working.
Wong uses his free foot to push down on Turner's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Turner.
Wong has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Wong sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Turner is squirming around, avoiding Wong's attempts to control the action.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Wong postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Turner looks a forlorn figure.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Turner takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Turner closes the distance but Wong moves to the side

Wong is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Turner can do to turn this around?

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wong wants to lay and pray for a moment but Turner keeps working.
Turner wants to get back to full guard.
Turner is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Wong scores with a couple of nice shots.

Wong is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Turner is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Turner takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Turner is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Wong.
Wong lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
