Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Brinehall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephen Dean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jason Brinehall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Stephen Dean!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Sam Margolis and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dean bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Jeez, both these guys look absolutely knackered already, that's not a good sign!
Brinehall can't do much from the bottom here.
Dean trying to control the position but Brinehall is working away.
Brinehall is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Dean wants to control but Brinehall is keeping him busy.
Dean controls the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brinehall wants to control but Dean postures up.
Brinehall tries to buck Dean off but Dean is having none of it.
Brinehall is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Brinehall is looking to control Dean's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Brinehall avoid being mounted?
Brinehall wants to get back to his feet.
Dean uses his free foot to push down on Brinehall's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Brinehall.
Brinehall is desperately trying to improve his position but Dean has a good base and remains in mount.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Brinehall holds on for dear life, controlling Dean's posture momentarily.
Dean wants to control the pace but Brinehall is squirming around nicely.
Brinehall wants to try and get back to his feet.
Dean thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Dean putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!

Dean controlling the pace for now.
Brinehall is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dean should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Dean unloads with some shots from mount but Brinehall bucks and avoids them well.
Brinehall working to try and regain half guard.
Dean lands a big elbow.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Dean avoids the attempt from Brinehall to control.
Dean can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Brinehall is looking to escape.
Brinehall tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Brinehall is working hard here to advance position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brinehall is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stephen Dean dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Brinehall fails in his attempt to clinch.

Dean clinches with his opponent.
Brinehall tries to stall but Dean uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Brinehall fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Dean wants a takedown but no success here.
Brinehall jumps guard but Dean stands there with Brinehall around his waist. Brinehall gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Dean jumps guard and drags Brinehall to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Dean wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Brinehall is now in half guard.
Brinehall perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Dean tries to roll over but Brinehall keeps him under control.
Brinehall wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dean keeps working.

Brinehall prevents Dean from improving his position.
Brinehall stops Dean from getting back to his feet.
Brinehall will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Dean tries to roll over but Brinehall keeps him under control.
Dean preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Dean works his way to full guard. Good work.
Brinehall has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Dean working a defensive guard here.
Brinehall wants to pass the guard but Dean is keeping the position.
Brinehall trying to control the position from guard on top but Dean is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Brinehall prevents Dean from getting back to his feet.

Brinehall throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dean works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Dean has a closed guard, preventing Brinehall from standing up.
Brinehall trying to control but Dean is working from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Dean has managed to clinch.

Brinehall's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Dean shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Brinehall is trying to defend but Dean finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Brinehall wants to get back to full guard.

Brinehall trying to hold on to Dean's head to control him but Dean postures up.
Brinehall wants to improve his position but Dean is controlling well.
Brinehall is staying active underneath Dean, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Dean performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Brinehall trying to control from the bottom.

Stephen Dean showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Brinehall has his takedown stuffed

and Dean counters with a shoot takedown. Brinehall fights it but they end up in guard.
Dean looking to pass the guard.
Dean wants to control from the top but Brinehall keeps moving.
Dean is looking to stand up but Brinehall won't let him.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Brinehall is adopting a defensive guard.

Brinehall is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Brinehall keeping moving, preventing Dean from controlling successfully.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Dean lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Brinehall circles away quickly and effectively.
Dean takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Brinehall.
Brinehall connects with a crisp jab.

Dean changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Brinehall looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Dean content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Brinehall is looking to reverse the position.
Brinehall manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Dean is concentrating on defense, preventing Brinehall from advancing position.

Dean is staying active underneath Brinehall, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Brinehall trying to pass the guard but Dean defending well.
Dean wants to control but Brinehall is keeping busy.
Dean won't allow Brinehall to pass to mount.
Brinehall is keen to just control but Dean is a slippery customer.
Dean wants to get back to his feet.

Brinehall pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dean is keeping the position for now.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Dean fails with an attempt to clinch.
Brinehall lands a jab to Dean's midsection.
No joy there for Dean, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Dean closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Brinehall is looking to reverse the position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Stephen Dean comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Dean winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
