The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Velasco fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Durans tries to close the distance and clinch up but Velasco swats him away and circles back towards the center. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Velasco unloads with some shots from mount but Durans bucks and avoids them well.

Durans lands a shot to the body. Durans is looking to control Velasco's arms but Velasco gets an underhook and turns him. Now Durans has his back to the cage. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Velasco is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Durans gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Tristan Durans seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Durans is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Velasco fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Durans avoids it really well and circles away. Velasco shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Durans defends it nicely. Velasco drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Velasco trying to control but Durans is working from the bottom. Velasco throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Velasco pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Durans is keeping the position for now. Durans preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Velasco trying to control but Durans is working from the bottom. Durans working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Velasco. Velasco is looking to work some ground and pound but Durans has wrist control. Velasco advances to half guard. Velasco thows a huge punch but Durans dodges it nicely.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Durans misses with a body kick. Velasco drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Severino Velasco will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Severino Velasco's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Velasco is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Durans defends it well. Durans tries to kick Velasco off but Velasco keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Velasco wants to work for an arm triangle but Durans is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Velasco seems to be working for a kimura but Durans defends the submission attempt. Velasco seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Durans is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
