Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Sanders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Hoppus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Sanders! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Hoppus! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, John Roberts and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hoppus swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hoppus misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sanders closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Sanders decides to return to a standing position. Sanders slips a jab and a cross from Hoppus.
Hoppus darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
It looks like Matt Sanders has been cut. Hoppus throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sanders. Hoppus tries to bum rush Sanders with a series of wild strikes but Sanders uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Hoppus moves in looking to clinch but Sanders pushes him off. Hoppus jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Hoppus throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Sanders looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Hoppus!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sanders landing strikes, looking to finish! Hoppus has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever. Hoppus wants to get back to his feet. Sanders is looking for a choke. Hoppus gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Hoppus manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard. Sanders trying to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hoppus throws a strike but Sanders rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Sanders slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Hoppus is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sanders is controlling him. Sanders works over Hoppus with some ground and pound from guard. Hoppus is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sanders looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Sanders trying to control but Hoppus is working from the bottom. Hoppus wants to stand up but Sanders is controlling him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Sanders passes Hoppus's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Sanders seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Ground and pound from Sanders. Sanders perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Hoppus is defending against the submission attempts here by Sanders.

Hoppus knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Hoppus for a finish. Sanders just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Hoppus is trying to get back to his feet but Sanders has full control of the position and if anything, Hoppus has just worked his way into a worse spot. Sanders scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Hoppus is looking for a way out.

A jab from Hoppus finds it's way through Sanders's defenses. Hoppus rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sanders moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Sanders gets the takedown into side control. Hoppus is pushing Sanders's head away, looking to escape. Sanders manages to hold on to the position though. Sanders controlling the pace. Hoppus is looking to escape. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Hoppus won't allow Sanders to pass to mount. Still in half guard, Sanders seems content to control. Hoppus is looking to escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hoppus is not content to let Sanders control the position. Hoppus pushes Sanders off and gets back to his feet. A nice combination there by Hoppus.
Sanders on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. The fight stays on the outside here - Sanders looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Sanders shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Hoppus lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sanders circles away quickly and effectively. Hoppus misses with a series of wild punches.
Sanders takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sanders throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hoppus's waist but Hoppus gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sanders off to one side. A combination from Hoppus does no damage. No joy there for Hoppus, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Sanders tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hoppus swats him away and circles back towards the center. Hoppus swinging wildly here.
Hoppus works the jab nicely. Sanders circles away from the clinch attempt and Sanders counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Matt Sanders overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hoppus keeping moving, preventing Sanders from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sanders postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Hoppus is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sanders is controlling him. Hoppus preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Sanders is standing up over Hoppus. Hoppus looks to escape but Sanders dives into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Sanders wants to control but Hoppus is keeping him busy. Hoppus wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Sanders is putting a hurting on Hoppus here, landing some big shots from side control. Hoppus tries to escape but Sanders is in control. Sanders stands up. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. A lazy left from Hoppus finds it's target. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close third round but Mark Hoppus just about did enough to take it. The cut man is working on Matt Sanders's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Hoppus throws a series of punches but Sanders moves out of range. Hoppus throws a nice looking combination but Sanders bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Excellent takedown into side control there by Sanders. Sanders working the ground and pound. Hoppus is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Sanders asserts his dominance and retains side control. Hoppus takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Hoppus taking punishment in the form of punches.
Hoppus is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted. Sanders stands up and we're back to a striking position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Sanders lands a big shot there that rocks Hoppus but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Matt Sanders's cut is getting worse. Hoppus lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Hoppus thuds a left hand into Sanders's body. Hoppus lands a with a good body shot. Hoppus has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Hoppus connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Sanders momentarily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hoppus displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. A left and a right from Hoppus both land. Nice combination. Hoppus misses with the combination.
Hoppus throws a nice looking combination but Sanders bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hoppus stalks Sanders and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Sanders's face. Sanders staggers backwards, shaken. Sanders is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hoppus's half guard. Sanders is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Hoppus! Hoppus squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Sanders takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Sanders unloading with bombs! Sanders looking to control but Hoppus is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Sanders goes for an armbar but Hoppus turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Hoppus. Hoppus throws and elbow that misses. Sanders uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hoppus's guard. Nice move by Sanders! Sanders trying to control but Hoppus is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sanders stops Hoppus from standing up. Hoppus pushes Sanders off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Mark Hoppus seems to be getting the better of the standup. Sanders throws a sloppy body shot
and Hoppus counters with a lovely straight right hand! Hoppus goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Sanders bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Hoppus pushes Sanders away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Sanders gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Sanders looking to control but instead Hoppus has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sanders lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Sanders prevents Hoppus from standing back up.

Mark Hoppus has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Matt Sanders is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Hoppus leaves Sanders with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
And that's the end of the fight! Mark Hoppus comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Sanders has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
