The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Green throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Mchugh looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mchugh trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Green wants to stand but Mchugh is controlling the position.
Mchugh postures up in Green's guard and throws a big left but Green blocks it.
Green not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Green could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Green wants to get back to his feet but Mchugh is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Mchugh throws and elbow that misses. Green uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Mchugh's guard. Nice move by Green!
Mchugh pulls Green in close to prevent any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Green wants to clinch.
Mchugh throws a head kick that misses.
An inside leg kick from Green misses.
Green goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

It looks like Micky Mchugh has been cut.
Mchugh is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Green circles away from the clinch attempt.

Mchugh throws a hook to the side of Green's head but Green sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Mchugh tries to close the distance and clinch up but Green swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Green drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Mchugh has Green pressed against the cage, preventing Green from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

The fighters circle momentarily. Mchugh darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Mchugh tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Green shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mchugh sprawls well. Mchugh wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Green gets slowly back to his feet.

Mchugh gets the takedown into side control.

Mchugh decides to stand back up. Mchugh steps back and let's Green get back to his feet.
Mchugh connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Green displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Mchugh throws out the jab.

Green got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mchugh has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Green has managed to get both his arms back between Mchugh's legs - danger averted.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Mchugh can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Green is looking to escape.
Mchugh takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Green is squirming around, avoiding Mchugh's attempts to control the action.

Mchugh goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Green is on top in guard.

Mchugh manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

and Mchugh counters with a good, hard body kick but Green shrugs it off.

Mchugh tries to throw a body punch but Green avoids it by throwing Mchugh back against the cage.

Mchugh connects with a knee to the head.

Green on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Well Mchugh has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
