Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dan iel Russo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ian Kinsler! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Kinsler crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Russo - the referee stops the clock and Kinsler gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Russo. Kinsler manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. A combination from Kinsler does no damage. Kinsler throws a right and a left that both miss. Kinsler tries to clinch up but Russo circles away and keeps his distance. Russo bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Russo scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Kinsler to see if he's OK. Russo stands up and we're back to a striking position. Kinsler throws a right and a left that Russo avoids nicely. Russo shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kinsler's guard. Russo gets to his feet. Kinsler looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Kinsler tries to close the distance and clinch up but Russo swats him away and circles back towards the center. A combination from Kinsler does no damage. Kinsler swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kinsler throws a series of punches but Russo avoids them all with ease. Russo scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Russo cracks Kinsler with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Russo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Russo gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Russo is breathing heavily. Kinsler misses with a wild combination.

That's one minute gone in the round. Kinsler tries to break the clinch but Russo is controlling the position. Kinsler wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Kinsler wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Russo has him pressed against the cage. Kinsler tries to break the clinch but Russo is controlling the position. Russo turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Russo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kinsler keeps working. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Russo stands up and we're back to a striking position. No joy there for Kinsler, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kinsler connects with a single shot there. Kinsler stalks Russo and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Russo's face. Russo staggers backwards, shaken. Kinsler misses with a two punch combination.
Kinsler fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Russo closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Russo lands in his opponent's guard. Russo won't allow Kinsler to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Russo trying to control but Kinsler is working from the bottom. Russo has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kinsler is proving hard to escape from. Russo postures up in Kinsler's guard and throws a big left but Kinsler blocks it. Russo connects with a couple of short punches. Kinsler pushes Russo off and gets back to his feet.
Kinsler tries to clinch up but Russo circles away and keeps his distance. Kinsler throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
The fighters circling - Russo throws out the jab but it was never going to land. A punch combination from Kinsler misses. Kinsler tries to keep at a distance but Russo has taken the fight into the clinch. Kinsler wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Russo has him pressed against the cage.

Thud! ouch! good body kick from Russo - that will leave a mark!
Kinsler misses with a few strikes there.
Kinsler throws a right hand that Russo ducks under and follows up with a left that Russo also avoids with ease. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Russo.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Russo. Russo stands up. Russo drives through and clinches with Kinsler against the cage.
Kinsler has Russo pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Russo manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Kinsler is fighting off a takedown attempt but Russo is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Kinsler to the mat. Kinsler regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Kinsler wants to stand and escape but Russo is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Russo decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Russo gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Russo goes for a takedown in the clinch but Kinsler prevents it.
Kinsler has had enough of the clinch but Russo keeps him there for the moment.

Russo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Russo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kinsler looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Kinsler is trying to get back to half guard. Russo throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Russo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Russo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Russo decides to stand back up. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Russo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Kinsler is squirming around, avoiding Russo's attempts to control the action. Russo lands with some strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dan iel Russo dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Kinsler wants to clinch. Russo closes the distance and clinches. Kinsler is fighting off a takedown attempt but Russo is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Kinsler to the mat. Kinsler regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Russo wants to control from the top but Kinsler keeps moving. Russo gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Russo swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Kinsler counters with a series of strikes. Russo will be more careful next time no doubt.

Russo seems to have got his legs back now. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Russo throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Kinsler because Russo loaded up on that one. Russo avoids the attempt from Kinsler to control. Russo punching from mount but Kinsler doing a good job of avoiding damage. Russo trying to control but Kinsler is having none of it. Russo controlling the pace for now. Kinsler manages to work a leg through to get back to half guard here. Good work there by Kinsler, under a barage of strikes from Russo.

Kinsler is refusing to be controlled, as Russo sits in half guard. Russo seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Kinsler gets slowly back to his feet. A decent looking body kick lands there for Russo. Ian Kinsler has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Russo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kinsler looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kinsler wants to get back to his feet but Russo drags him back down.
And that's the end of the fight! Dan iel Russo showed his dominance in that final round. Well Russo has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
