Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Renato Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Even Steven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Alves might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Ultimate Victory. Steven has chosen Metallica-Enter Sandman as his entrance music. Even Steven is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Renato Alves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Even Steven!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Luis Engracia and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steven closes the distance and clinches.
Steven throws a knee to the head but misses.
Steven will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Alves up against the cage.
Alves has clasped his hands together around Steven's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Steven tries to bench press Alves off him but Alves keeps the position.
The strikes coming from Alves are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Steven is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Steven takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Steven is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Alves is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Steven is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Steven wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Alves works to advance to full mount. Steven defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Alves breaks from Steven's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Steven is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Alves is in the full mount, landing strikes.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Alves cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Alves moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Steven has worked his arm free - good work by Steven!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Steven is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Alves has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Alves tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Alves has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Alves wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Steven, who protects the arm well.
Steven manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Steven wants to get back to his feet.
Alves is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Steven is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Steven looks gassed!

Alves swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
