Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Derakor Vindicator (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Glass Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vindicator comes to the cage accompanied by Kael Drakkel Ambience. Joe has chosen Ode to Joe as his entrance music. Glass Joe has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Derakor Vindicator! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Glass Joe! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Alexandre Firmino and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Joe shoots for a double leg takedown but Vindicator sprawls well. He's pushed Joe's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Joe tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Vindicator thows a body kick. Joe tries to catch it but that hurt him. Joe scores with a nice head shot. Joe is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Vindicator goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Vindicator is looking to clinch but Joe is avoiding it.
Vindicator moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Joe shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Joe takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Joe fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Vindicator stuffs the takedown attempt from Joe. Joe gets slowly back to his feet. Derakor Vindicator has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Glass Joe. Vindicator throws a head kick that misses. Joe walks forward, straight into a front kick from Vindicator. Joe looking for a takedown here - he's got it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Vindicator is looking for a triangle but Joe pushes his legs off easily.
Joe wants to control from the top but Vindicator keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vindicator looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Vindicator working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Joe doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Joe manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Vindicator is breathing heavily. Joe stands up from Vindicator's guard - Joe perhaps looking for a knockout. Vindicator tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Vindicator fails with the takedown and Joe counters by moving into the clinch. Vindicator could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Vindicator tries for a takedown but Joe manages to get underhooks.
Joe escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Joe shoots for a double leg takedown but Vindicator sprawls well. He's pushed Joe's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Derakor Vindicator seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Joe looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Vindicator! Vindicator working to try and regain half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Joe has control of Vindicator's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Vindicator regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Joe prevents Vindicator from getting the reversal. Joe manages to capitalize on a mistake by Vindicator to take his back! Vindicator turns into Joe and is now in his guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Vindicator looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Vindicator throwing shots but Joe is blocking nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vindicator decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Vindicator lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. No joy there for Vindicator, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Vindicator drops back, looking for a kneebar! Joe looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Joe looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Joe! Vindicator is trying to control Joe's posture but Joe avoids it. Vindicator throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Vindicator looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Vindicator is trying to control but can't.
Joe stops Vindicator from getting back to his feet.
Vindicator tries to get to full guard but Joe has control of the leg.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A combination from Vindicator does no damage. Vindicator moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Vindicator tries to clinch but fails miserably and Joe decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Vindicator's guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Vindicator is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Vindicator wants to sweep but no luck. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Vindicator is working hard here to advance position. Vindicator is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Joe rolls with it to try and escape but Vindicator cranks on the arm and Joe is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Derakor Vindicator! Derakor Vindicator is the new lightweight champion!
