Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dante Cross!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Akio Kurosaki!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Damien Edna and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cross blocks a head kick by Kurosaki.
A nice inside leg kick there by Kurosaki. That's going to slow Cross down.
Kurosaki moves in looking to clinch but Cross pushes him off.
Cross throws a sloppy head kick
and Cross takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Kurosaki moves into range and clinches up with Cross.
Cross with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Cross takes a knee right on the jaw!
Kurosaki scores with a knee to the head.
Cross is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Kurosaki gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Nice elbow from Kurosaki.
Kurosaki comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Cross tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kurosaki just stands there and leans against the cage.
Kurosaki lands a shoulder strike.
Cross takes a knee right on the jaw!
It looks like Dante Cross has been cut.
Kurosaki lands a hook to the side of the head.
Cross is rocked!
Nice elbow from Kurosaki.
Oh Cross is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kurosaki is pressed up against the cage. Cross has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kurosaki down to the mat. Kurosaki avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dante Cross. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kurosaki lands with a shot to the body.
Cross is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cross takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Kurosaki closes the distance and clinches.
Kurosaki creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Cross with a big uppercut! Cross tries to clinch up but Kurosaki pushes him back against the cage and lands another moster strike that crumples Cross to the mat! Cross covers up and Kurosaki unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Akio Kurosaki!
