Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Caeas Liege (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fuma Kotaro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Liege comes to the cage accompanied by Ecstasy of Gold. Kotaro comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Bang Bang kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kotaro drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kotaro might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Liege kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Kotaro had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Liege defends it easily.
Kotaro escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Liege gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kotaro is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Despite being in the dominant position, Fuma Kotaro just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Kotaro is desperately trying to improve his position but Liege has a good base and remains in mount.

Liege is trying to stick to Kotaro's back but Kotaro is turning into Liege. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Liege's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Kotaro.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Caeas Liege.
I think Kotaro has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
