Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Junior Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucian Corrello (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lucian Corrello told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Daniel Cesar and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie has Corrello up against the cage in a clinch.
Gracie tries to break free but Corrello pushes him back against the cage.
Corrello tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Gracie is trying to break free.
Corrello on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Corrello tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Gracie smiles and moves away.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Corrello shoots in for a double leg but Gracie sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Gracie feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Corrello is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gracie is aware though and is defending well.
Gracie postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Corrello is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Corrello swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Corrello working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gracie doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gracie manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Corrello escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gracie gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Gracie lands the left hand.
Junior Gracie is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gracie throws a sloppy head kick and Corrello moves out of range easily.
Gracie looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Corrello tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Gracie wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Gracie stands up and beckons Corrello to his feet.

Corrello is breathing heavily.

Corrello bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Corrello is looking for a rear naked choke here but Gracie reverses the position brilliantly into Corrello's guard!
Corrello has his foot on Gracie's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gracie works his way back into a safe position though.

Gracie gets to his feet - Corrello follows without any prompting.

and Gracie counters by moving into the clinch.
Corrello has Gracie pressed against the cage, preventing Gracie from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Corrello tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Gracie just stands there and leans against the cage.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Gracie scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

and Gracie counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Gracie closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Corrello checks a leg kick.

Corrello is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Gracie is just riding it out for now. Corrello eventually gives up the hold.

Well Gracie has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
