Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tom Green! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Forrest Lion! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Damien Edna and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Green changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lion looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Lion looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Green trying to control the position but Lion is working away. Lion is looking to reverse the position. Green tries to stand but Lion is controlling his head. Green cracks Lion with a big right hand but Lion just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Green working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Lion takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Lion knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Green lands some shots froms side control. Green connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Lion some visible discomfort.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Lion flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Green knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lion on the ground. Green with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Green trying to control but Lion is working from the bottom. Green wants to get up but he can't break Lion's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Green stands up from Lion's guard - Green perhaps looking for a knockout. Green shoots in and bounces Lion off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Green has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Lion is proving hard to escape from. Green drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Green jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Green missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Green looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Lion wants to improve his position but Green is controlling well.
Green seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Lion avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Green.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Green working Lion over with strikes. Ground and pound from Green. Ground and pound from Green. Green stands up and beckons Lion to join him on the feet. Green scores a takedown into full mount! Tom Green overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Lion wants to hold on but Green pushes him away. Green is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lion is just riding it out for now. Green eventually gives up the hold. Lion looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Green is figuring out what he wants to do next. Lion taking some punishment here, with Green in his half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Green tries to pass the half guard into mount. Lion knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Green looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Green throws a right and a left that Lion avoids nicely. Green drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Green stands up and beckons Lion to his feet. Green throws a nice looking combination but Lion bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Green moves into range and clinches up with Lion. Forrest Lion has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Tom Green is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Green is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
And that's the end of the fight! Tom Green showed his dominance in that final round. Well Green has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
