A fine choice. Sappitz has chosen Red Right Hand as his entrance music. Bobb Sappitz has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bobb Sappitz! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sappitz stuffs the takedown attempt from Serd. Serd gets slowly back to his feet. Sappitz drops Serd with a right and a left! Sappitz comes rushing in but Serd regains his composure and manages to keep Sappitz in guard.

A nice leg kick lands there from Sappitz. Sappitz comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Sappitz lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Serd backs up against the cage.
Sappitz looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Bobb Sappitz seems to be getting the better of the standup. Serd tries for a takedown but Sappitz circles away easily and Sappitz counters with a straight right hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Serd shoots and misses and Sappitz counters with a right hand to the body. Serd takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Serd shoots and misses and Sappitz counters with a three punch combo that has Serd backing up. Serd nods at Sappitz to acknowledge the strikes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kostya Serd. That's going to take a lot out of him. Serd fails with the takedown and Sappitz counters with a one-two to the body. Kostya Serd seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Serd shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Sappitz counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Serd thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Bobb Sappitz has got the better of the ground game so far. Serd trying to control but Sappitz is working from the bottom. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sappitz can do anything to dispel that myth.

Bobb Sappitz is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

And that's the end of the fight! Bobb Sappitz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Sappitz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
