Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Petter Andreassen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Seppo Vaihoja!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Tarja Halkonen and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Andreassen fails with an attempt to clinch.
A combination from Vaihoja does no damage.
Vaihoja fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Andreassen.
Andreassen fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Vaihoja stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Vaihoja wants it to stay on the feet.
Vaihoja connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Vaihoja changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Andreassen takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Vaihoja goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Vaihoja moves out of range as Andreassen strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Vaihoja fails to land with a series of punches.
Andreassen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Vaihoja sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Andreassen somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Petter Andreassen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Vaihoja fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Vaihoja lands a left and a right that send Andreassen crashing to the mat, dazed. Vaihoja thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Andreassen is rocked!
It looks like Petter Andreassen has been cut.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Vaihoja has cracked Andreassen with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Vaihoja lands another huge swinging hook and Andreassen tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Andreassen, before Vaihoja can land any more shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Seppo Vaihoja!
