Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Marghareti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Puzzle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marghareti comes into the arena with WHAM blaring out of the sound system. Jason Puzzle is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Antonio Marghareti! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jason Puzzle! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Russell Pearce and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marghareti shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Puzzle is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Puzzle is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Marghareti tries to get to full guard but Puzzle has control of the leg. Puzzle is trying to work for a kimura but Marghareti is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Puzzle missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Puzzle has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Marghareti actively working from the bottom here. Puzzle passes to full mount! Puzzle sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Puzzle controlling from the full mount. Marghareti is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marghareti tries to lock up and control but Puzzle gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Puzzle landing punches. Marghareti is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Marghareti is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Puzzle with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
A nice elbow there by Puzzle. Puzzle is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Marghareti has managed to escape the submission attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Marghareti is working hard here to advance position. Marghareti tries to hold on but Puzzle pushes him away. Marghareti is squirming around, avoiding Puzzle's attempts to control the action. Puzzle sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Puzzle working for a guillotine from mount but Marghareti is in no mood to give up. Puzzle looks gassed! Puzzle tries to control but Marghareti wriggling away. Marghareti working to try and regain half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Puzzle is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Marghareti can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Marghareti tries to lock up and control but Puzzle gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Puzzle prevents Marghareti from getting the reversal. Marghareti manages to regain half guard. Good work. Puzzle is thwarting Marghareti's attempts to control the position. Marghareti actively working from the bottom here. Puzzle wants to take a breather but Marghareti is having none of it. Marghareti wants to control but Puzzle is keeping busy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Well, if Puzzle is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Marghareti ducks under a wild hook from Puzzle. Puzzle misses with a hook. Marghareti ducked under it nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jason Puzzle dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

No luck with that takedown attempt from Marghareti. Puzzle looks to throw the jab but Marghareti is out of range. Antonio Marghareti is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Puzzle throws a hook but Marghareti avoids it easily. Marghareti moves into the clinch successfully.
Puzzle looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Puzzle jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Marghareti walks away with a smile on his face. Puzzle gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Jab by Puzzle. Marghareti fails with a takedown attempt. Excellent takedown into side control there by Marghareti.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marghareti wants to control but Puzzle is keeping him busy. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Puzzle wants to control but Marghareti postures up. Puzzle gets back to half guard. Marghareti sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Puzzle defending well though. Puzzle wants to improve his position but Marghareti is controlling well.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Puzzle throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Marghareti sees it coming and avoids it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Marghareti shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Puzzle defends it nicely. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Antonio Marghareti. That's going to take a lot out of him. Puzzle shoots and misses and Marghareti counters with a takedown into side control. Puzzle takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Puzzle wants to control but Marghareti postures up. Puzzle is looking to regain half guard here but Marghareti keeps moving and retains side control. Marghareti scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Puzzle to see if he's OK. Marghareti tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. That's three minutes gone in the round. Puzzle is trying to control Marghareti's posture but Marghareti avoids it. Marghareti landing strikes. Marghareti is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Puzzle is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Puzzle manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Marghareti looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Puzzle with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Puzzle avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Marghareti. Puzzle actively working from the bottom here. Marghareti is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Puzzle has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Puzzle makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Puzzle. Marghareti trying to control the position from guard on top but Puzzle is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Marghareti throws a big right hand that misses. Puzzle looking to control.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Puzzle throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Marghareti stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Nice straight punches there by Puzzle. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Puzzle. Puzzle fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Marghareti manages to avoid it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Antonio Marghareti dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

and Marghareti holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Puzzle is trying to drag Marghareti to the mat but Marghareti just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. A frustrated look appears on Puzzle's face as he tries to break the clinch. Marghareti ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Marghareti no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Marghareti working for submissions but it's allowed Puzzle to get to half guard.
Puzzle throwing shots but Marghareti is blocking nicely. Marghareti tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Puzzle has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Puzzle wants to finish this one by submission but Marghareti is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Puzzle. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Marghareti keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Puzzle cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Marghareti slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Marghareti tries to roll over but Puzzle keeps him under control. Well, if Puzzle is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Puzzle wants to take a breather but Marghareti is having none of it. Marghareti is pressing down on Puzzle's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Puzzle thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Marghareti looking to hit a scissor sweep but Puzzle is one step ahead there. Marghareti working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Puzzle doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Puzzle manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Jason Puzzle has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Puzzle passes Marghareti's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Marghareti looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Puzzle winds up and cracks Marghareti with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Marghareti is looking to improve his position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Puzzle is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Puzzle is looking to advance position but Marghareti won't allow it.
And that's the end of the fight! Jason Puzzle comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Puzzle has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
