Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marilio Bernard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dave Burbinna! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Reed Andrews and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bernard shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Burbinna pinned against the cage. Burbinna gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Bernard tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Burbinna swivels and escapes. Burbinna scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Bernard is looking to regain half guard here but Burbinna keeps moving and retains side control. Burbinna really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bernard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Bernard is not content to let Burbinna control the position. Bernard taking a bit of punishment here - Burbinna scoring with strikes. Burbinna controls the position. Bernard sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bernard is trying is best to control the position here. Nice strikes from Burbinna there. Bernard gets full guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Burbinna accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Bernard has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Burbinna should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Bernard has tightened it up now! Burbinna should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
