Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Brewer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack Jones had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eddie Brewer!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Damien Edna and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brewer dives in and grabs Jones's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jones pushes down on Brewer's head and hops out.
Jones throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jones throws a nice looking combination but Brewer bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Brewer decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Brewer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jones keeps working.
Jones might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Jones knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Brewer on the ground.
Still in half guard, Brewer seems content to control.
Let's hope that Brewer has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brewer's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Brewer is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Despite being in the dominant position, Eddie Brewer just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jones slaps away a takedown attempt from Brewer, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Brewer feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Brewer fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jones avoids it really well and circles away.
Jack Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Brewer.

Brewer shoots in for a takedown but Jones shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Jones goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Brewer is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Jones has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Jones!

Brewer changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jones tries to avoid it but Brewer manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jones to the ground. Jones escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
