Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt McGeer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Whitey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt McGeer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Daniel Whitey! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Columbo Gatti and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Whitey is looking to clinch. Whitey darts in and clinches McGeer up against the cage. McGeer misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Whitey.
McGeer lands an elbow just above Whitey 's eye.
It looks like Daniel Whitey has been cut. Whitey takes a knee to the side of the body. Whitey is trying to maintain a safe position but McGeer gets an underhook and turns Whitey into the cage. Whitey jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as McGeer walks away with a smile on his face. Whitey gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. McGeer clinches but Whitey breaks the clinch and Whitey counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for McGeer! Whitey throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. McGeer is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Whitey trying to control but McGeer is having none of it. Whitey avoids the attempt from McGeer to control. Whitey can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as McGeer is looking to escape. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. McGeer is in all sorts of trouble here.

McGeer tries to hold on but Whitey pushes him away. Whitey controlling the pace for now. McGeer wants to hold on but Whitey pushes him away. McGeer throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Whitey takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. McGeer is wriggling around trying to escape.
Whitey wants to get back to his feet but McGeer is holding on tight.
Whitey trying to control but he's not successful this time. McGeer tries to hold on but Whitey postures up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McGeer is working to get back to half guard.
McGeer is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Whitey tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Whitey throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
McGeer throwing hammer fists to the chest of Whitey. What's that going to do exactly? McGeer throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Whitey working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. McGeer throwing hammer fists to the chest of Whitey. What's that going to do exactly? Whitey really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McGeer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Whitey thowing shots but they're missing. McGeer is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Whitey throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for McGeer because Whitey loaded up on that one. McGeer is in all sorts of trouble here.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. McGeer trying to control but not successfully. McGeer is keeping busy.

Daniel Whitey dominated that round. The cut man is working on Daniel Whitey's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
McGeer wants to clinch and Whitey counters by moving into the clinch. McGeer pressing his opponent against the cage. McGeer gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Whitey.

Whitey lands with a nice combination. McGeer backs away looking to recover. Whitey tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but McGeer swivels and escapes. Whitey takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
McGeer tries to clinch and Whitey counters with a thumping low kick. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Whitey drives through with a takedown into guard. Whitey won't allow McGeer to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. McGeer controls Whitey momentarily but Whitey frees himself. Whitey wants to get up but he can't break McGeer's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Whitey drops back, looking for a kneebar! McGeer looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. McGeer looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from McGeer! Whitey is breathing heavily. McGeer trying to control the action but Whitey is working from the bottom. Whitey tries to buck McGeer off but McGeer is having none of it. A lull in the action here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Whitey tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but McGeer wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. McGeer tries to advance to mount but Whitey denies him. McGeer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Whitey keeps working. McGeer is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Whitey will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Whitey moves into the clinch. McGeer lands an elbow inside. McGeer is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. McGeer throws an elbow but it's blocked.

That's three minutes gone in the round. McGeer lands an elbow inside. Whitey wants a takedown.
Matt McGeer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Whitey. McGeer gets underhooks to prevent Whitey's takedown attempt.
Whitey has McGeer pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. McGeer manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Whitey looking for a takedown. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Whitey fails to pull guard.
Whitey scores with a hook to the body. McGeer's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Whitey is trying to work for a single leg takedown but McGeer pulls him back up using the underhooks. McGeer missing with knees to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A nice right hand lands inside from Whitey. McGeer breaks from the clinch.
Whitey shoots in looking for a takedown. McGeer tries to sprawl out of it but Whitey keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McGeer manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Matt McGeer is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. McGeer tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Whitey counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. McGeer escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Whitey gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. McGeer looking to control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. McGeer throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. McGeer is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Whitey is aware though and is defending well. McGeer is trying to control the position from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Daniel Whitey showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Daniel Whitey's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
McGeer wants to clinch and Whitey counters with a flying knee. Nice. Whitey gets in close and instigates a clinch. Whitey drops to a knee looking for a takedown but McGeer gets the underhooks and prevents it.
McGeer is trying to maintain a safe position but Whitey gets an underhook and turns McGeer into the cage. McGeer tries to land knees in the clinch but Whitey avoids the damage to the body. Whitey blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Whitey tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

McGeer is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Whitey is defending well for now. Whitey tightens his grip and picks McGeer up, before dumping him to the ground. McGeer manages to land in guard. McGeer tries to strike from the bottom.
McGeer is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Whitey throwing strikes from guard but McGeer blocks nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Whitey is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. McGeer has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Whitey can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Whitey is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. McGeer tries to strike from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. McGeer tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Whitey counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Whitey with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. The referee is keeping an eye on Whitey - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Whitey breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Whitey tries to close the distance and clinch but McGeer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. McGeer tries to clinch and Whitey counters with a single leg into guard. McGeer didn't expect that. McGeer looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Whitey stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McGeer swivels though and keeps the full guard. McGeer working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Whitey has passed into half guard!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McGeer is looking to get back to is feet but Whitey passes into side control.
McGeer can't do much from the bottom here. McGeer throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land. Whitey working away. Whitey throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Whitey trying to control the position but McGeer is working away. Whitey happy to just control the position for now. Matt McGeer has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. McGeer closes the distance but Whitey moves to the side and Whitey counters with a head kick. Whitey shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. McGeer manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. McGeer is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Whitey looking to pass the guard. McGeer can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Whitey controls the pace. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Whitey stopping the sweep attempt from McGeer.
And that's the end of the fight! Daniel Whitey comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Whitey winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
