Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Iron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Lattavo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Iron kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Let the bodies hit the floor. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Iron! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anthony Lattavo! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Daniel Cesar and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Iron shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lattavo pinned against the cage. Lattavo gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Iron is looking to clinch but Lattavo is avoiding it.
Iron clinches up with Lattavo and pushes him back against the cage. Lattavo breaks from the clinch.
Lattavo bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
It looks like John Iron has been cut. A punch combination from Iron misses. Iron fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Lattavo tries a head kick but it misses.
Lattavo throws a left and a right that both miss
and Lattavo takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Some wild striking there from Lattavo.
Lattavo on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Iron swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Lattavo looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Iron moves into full guard.
Lattavo throws a strike but Iron rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lattavo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lattavo wants to get back to his feet but Iron is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Lattavo looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Lattavo working a defensive guard but Iron manages to pass into side control anyway.
Lattavo holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage. Iron is breathing heavily. Lattavo is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Iron is one step ahead and moves to full mount! We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lattavo can do anything to dispel that myth. Lattavo is desperately trying to improve his position but Iron has a good base and remains in mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Iron content just to control the position here. Lattavo tries to lock up and control but Iron gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Lattavo working to try and regain half guard.
Lattavo is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Lattavo manages to regain half guard. Good work. Lattavo misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Iron will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Lattavo is looking to control Iron's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lattavo avoid being mounted? Lattavo slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Iron stands up and waves to Lattavo to follow him. Left hook, right uppercut from Iron. John Iron seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lattavo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Iron as he jumps to the side. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Iron - that will leave a mark!
Iron throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Lattavo counters with a takedown into side control. This has been an exciting period of action! Iron seems a little lost for a moment, as Lattavo dominates the positioning. Iron is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Lattavo scoring with punches and elbows. Lattavo working the ground and pound from side control.
Iron is rocked! Iron on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Oh Iron is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Lattavo scoring with punches and elbows. Lattavo creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Iron is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Lattavo scores with punches from side control. Iron on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Lattavo has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Iron! Lattavo with the ground and pound from mount. Lattavo in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Iron takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Lattavo lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Iron hang on? Lattavo sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Iron is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Lattavo content just to control the position here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Anthony Lattavo dominated that round. The cut man is working on John Iron's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Lattavo is looking for a triangle but Iron pushes his legs off easily.
Iron preventing the sweep. Lattavo trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Lattavo controls Iron momentarily but Iron frees himself. Lattavo throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Lattavo looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Lattavo throws a right and a left that both miss. Iron seems to have got his legs back now. Iron fails to land with a series of punches.
Iron looks to score with a jab to the body but Lattavo is just out of range. Lattavo misses with a kick to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Iron takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Iron throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Iron steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lattavo. Nice sprawl there from Lattavo as Iron shoots in. Iron dodges the punch combination from Lattavo.
Lattavo misses with a double jab.
Nice shot lands for Iron. Lattavo avoids a punch combination nicely.
Iron lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Iron throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Lattavo is rocked! Iron lands a hook that stumbles Lattavo back into the cage. Iron follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Lattavo to the canvas! Iron pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Lattavo has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
