Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Steve Pharaoh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ad Po (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ad Po has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Steve Pharaoh's chin.

With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steve Pharaoh!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ad Po!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Reed Andrews and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pharaoh tries a head kick but it misses.
Pharaoh throws a sloppy head kick and Po moves out of range easily.
Pharaoh misses with an attempted mid kick.
Po throws a low kick but it's checked well by Pharaoh.
Pharaoh scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Pharaoh throws a half hearted mid kick.
Pharaoh avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Pharaoh fakes the leg kick and cracks Po in the body.
Pharaoh displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Po.
Po tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Po looks gassed!
Po takes a kick to the side of the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Po closes the distance and clinches up with Pharaoh, looking for a takedown. Po pushes Pharaoh against the cage but Pharaoh circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Pharaoh stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pharaoh wants it to stay on the feet.
Steve Pharaoh has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ad Po.

Pharaoh connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Pharaoh shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Pharaoh was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Pharaoh jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Po manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Pharaoh tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Pharaoh has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Pharaoh is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Po knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Po is trying to get back to half guard.
Pharaoh tries to advance to mount but can't.

Pharaoh is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Po is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Po tries to control but Pharaoh manages to take his back.
Po looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Po turns into Pharaoh and is now in his guard.

Pharaoh displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Po throws out the jab.

Pharaoh lands with a thumping leg kick.
Pharaoh misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Po is trying desperately to land a takedown but Pharaoh is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Po.

Po walks forward, straight into a front kick from Pharaoh.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pharaoh dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Po. That did some damage!

Pharaoh closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Pharaoh goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Po has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Pharaoh but great work by Po.

Pharaoh lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Po down.

Pharaoh wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Po, who protects the arm well.
Po isn't going anywhere.
Po is looking for a sweep.

Pharaoh looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Po has picked Pharaoh up and slammed him! Pharaoh can't keep hold of the triangle and Po manages to pass to side control!

and Pharaoh makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Po bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Pharaoh's head.
Some bone on bone action there as Pharaoh checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Ad Po is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

Po might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Pharaoh kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.

Pharaoh drops back looking for a leg! Po is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Po manages to kick Pharaoh off! Pharaoh jumps back into Po's guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Pharaoh in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Po tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Pharaoh!
