Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between bob qwerty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cornelius Smithy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cornelius Smithy has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with bob qwerty's chin.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Cornelius Smithy!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Daniel Bishop and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
qwerty throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.


It looks like Cornelius Smithy has been cut.
qwerty fails to land the takedown.

qwerty shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Smithy's guard.
qwerty won't allow Smithy to sweep him here.
Smithy trying to control the position here.

Smithy keeping moving, preventing qwerty from controlling successfully.

Smithy pulls qwerty in to control the position.
qwerty wanted to stand there but Smithy had control of the position.
qwerty wants to pass the guard but Smithy is keeping the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
qwerty misses with a head kick.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Smithy doesn't succeed with the takedown

and qwerty counters with a takedown into side control.
Smithy tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but qwerty wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

qwerty tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no qwerty has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

qwerty is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Smithy has escaped the position, nice work there.

qwerty controls the position.
qwerty laying and praying for a moment but Smithy takes advantage and regains half guard.
qwerty prevents Smithy from improving his position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Smithy is controlling qwerty's position as best he can from this difficult position.
qwerty wants to control but Smithy is keeping him busy.
qwerty tries to stand but can't do so whilst Smithy controls his leg.
qwerty controlling the pace.
Smithy is trying to maintain the position but qwerty is very close to passing his half guard.

qwerty doesn't manage to clinch there - Smithy circles away.
Smithy with a poor takedown

and qwerty decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Smithy's guard.
Smithy wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Smithy trying to keep a closed guard but qwerty is proving a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
qwerty wants to control from the top but Smithy keeps moving.
qwerty advances position into side control!

Smithy manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
qwerty wants to control but Smithy is keeping him busy.
Smithy works his way to full guard. Good work.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as qwerty accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
qwerty thows a big elbow that misses.
qwerty seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Smithy preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
qwerty controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
qwerty trying to control but Smithy is working from the bottom.

Smithy is adopting a defensive guard.
Smithy trying to keep a closed guard but qwerty is proving a slippery customer.
Smithy is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Smithy pulls qwerty in close to prevent any damage.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Smithy wants to sweep but no luck.
Smithy keeping full guard, as qwerty tries to pass.
qwerty wants to stand but Smithy is controlling his posture from full guard.
qwerty has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

qwerty throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Smithy.

qwerty misses with a takedown attempt

so Smithy counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
qwerty has Smithy pulled in close to control his posture.
Smithy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. qwerty swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Smithy slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Smithy tries to move to mount but qwerty blocks the move with his legs.

Smithy wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by qwerty, who protects the arm well.

Smithy tries to advance to mount but can't.

Smithy is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but qwerty is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Smithy takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Smithy trying to control the action but qwerty is working from the bottom.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
qwerty tries to escape but Smithy is in control.
qwerty wants to control but Smithy postures up.
qwerty takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
qwerty can't do much from the bottom here.

Smithy controls the position.

Smithy tries for a kimura but qwerty is defending well.
qwerty is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Smithy tries to advance to mount but can't.
qwerty gets back to half guard.
qwerty knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smithy on the ground.
Smithy wants to take a breather but qwerty is having none of it.
Cornelius Smithy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Smithy is trying to work for a kimura but qwerty is defending well.
bob qwerty is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
qwerty wants to get back to his feet.

Well qwerty has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
