Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Royce Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Vioto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vioto is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Nothing else matters - Metallica. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Royce Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, George Vioto! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Felipe Paraventi and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vioto is fending him off so far but Gracie persists. Nope, Vioto circles away and we're back to standing. Vioto closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gracie did well to prevent Vioto getting side control. Vioto thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Gracie keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Vioto wants to free his trapped foot but Gracie is holding on for dear life with his legs. Vioto content to control rather than advance. Vioto throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie blocking the ground and pound attempt from Vioto. Vioto throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Vioto is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Gracie controlling the position well. Vioto wants to control but Gracie is keeping him busy. Vioto stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Gracie to get to his feet. Vioto scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Vioto wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gracie keeps working. Gracie tries to buck Vioto off but Vioto is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vioto throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Vioto wants to control but Gracie is keeping him busy. Gracie gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Vioto is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Vioto raining down shots from the mount! Gracie is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Gracie is squirming around, avoiding Vioto's attempts to control the action.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vioto throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Vioto moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Gracie has worked his arm free - good work by Gracie!
Vioto stands up and beckons Gracie to his feet. Gracie doesn't succeed with the takedown and Vioto counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Gracie is breathing heavily. Vioto is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Gracie sees it coming and defends easily. Vioto working Gracie over with strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vioto moves into full mount! Gracie won't be happy about that! Vioto takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Vioto throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Poor strikes thrown by Vioto there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Vioto lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Gracie hang on? The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Gracie can't escape the position.
Vioto lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Gracie is squirming around, avoiding Vioto's attempts to control the action. Gracie wants to hold on but Vioto pushes him away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
George Vioto dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gracie. Vioto is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Gracie's half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gracie won't allow Vioto to pass to mount. Vioto is nestled in close to Gracie, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Vioto passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Gracie! Gracie tries to lock up and control but Vioto gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Vioto misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Gracie really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

That's one minute gone in the round. Vioto quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Vioto but it's paid off an Gracie is forced to tap! Nice work by Vioto.
