Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Akira Kanehara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mon Key (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mon Key has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Akira Kanehara! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mon Key! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Bruno Lombardi and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Key shoots in for a double leg but Kanehara sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Kanehara scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Kanehara cracks Key with an elbow. That is naaassty. Key is looking for a sweep. Kanehara misses with the ground and pound. Kanehara cracks Key with a big right hand but Key just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Kanehara throwing strikes but Key manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Kanehara on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Key has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Key gets caught flat footed, as Kanehara shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Kanehara postures up in Key's guard and throws a big left but Key blocks it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Key is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kanehara showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Key is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kanehara is aware though and is defending well. Key escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kanehara gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Key keeping moving, preventing Kanehara from controlling successfully. Key working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kanehara. Kanehara slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Key can't do much from the bottom here. Key is trying to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Key prevents Kanehara from improving position. Key gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Kanehara with good strikes from the mount here! Key is in a horrible position here. Kanehara smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Key tries to lock up and control but Kanehara gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. A nice elbow there by Kanehara. Kanehara unloading with bombs! Kanehara unloading with bombs! Key keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Key wants to control but Kanehara is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kanehara scoring with strikes but Key is staying in there. Kanehara has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Key's face.
Kanehara lands a heavy elbow. Key taking shots to the head. Key working to try and regain half guard.
Key wants to control but Kanehara is having none of it. Kanehara jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Key is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Key and Kanehara has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Kanehara wants to control but Key is keeping him busy. Kanehara working the body and head with strikes. Key is trying to control Kanehara's posture but Kanehara avoids it. Kanehara working the ground and pound. You can see the frustration on Key's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Kanehara tries to move to mount but Key blocks the move with his legs. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Key sneaks back into half guard. Kanehara throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Akira Kanehara dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Kanehara shoots in for a double leg but Key sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Key doesn't succeed with the takedown and Kanehara decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Key's guard. Kanehara trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Key looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kanehara is one step ahead there. Kanehara passes Key's left leg - he's now in half guard. Key is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Kanehara scores with a couple of nice shots. Key is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Kanehara winds up and cracks Key with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kanehara is working for a kimura but Key is defending it quite comfortably.
Kanehara uses his free foot to push down on Key's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Key. Kanehara looking to control but Key is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Kanehara with the ground and pound from mount. Key is wriggling around trying to escape.
Key is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Kanehara breaks from Key's wrist control and lands an elbow. Key keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kanehara fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Kanehara lands a big shot there that rocks Key but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Kanehara is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Key can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Key is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kanehara lands a nice shot to the head. Key is still in real trouble! Can Kanehara finish him? Oooooh, big shot lands for Kanehara! Key is hurt baaadly! Kanehara is firing away with more strikes - Key is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Akira Kanehara!
