Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eli Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and chris stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). chris stevens will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eli Brooks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, chris stevens! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brooks scores with a nice right hand.
A left and a right from Brooks both land. Nice combination. Brooks drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. stevens is trying to get back to his feet. Brooks is trying to ground and pound but stevens uses the momentary lack of control by Brooks to regain half guard. Brooks stalling away here and it's allowed stevens to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Brooks prevents stevens from getting back to his feet. Brooks throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brooks pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. stevens is keeping the position for now. Brooks with a flurry of punches that miss. stevens keeping moving, preventing Brooks from controlling successfully. stevens is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Brooks scores a takedown into full mount! Brooks working the ground and pound effectively.

Brooks throwing strikes here but stevens is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brooks throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for stevens because Brooks loaded up on that one. stevens takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. stevens trying desperately to get to his feet.
Brooks landing strikes from the mount and stevens is in trouble! stevens in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. stevens holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Brooks tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Brooks unloads with some shots from mount but stevens bucks and avoids them well.
Brooks with shots to the head and body - stevens looks very uncomfortable down there. Brooks controlling his opponent. Brooks looking to ground and pound but stevens is blocking nicely. Brooks sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. stevens avoids a series of strikes thrown by Brooks.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Brooks looking to ground and pound but stevens is blocking nicely. Brooks tries to control but stevens wriggling away. Brooks controlling the position easily from mount. Brooks wants to control the pace but stevens is squirming around nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eli Brooks dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Brooks scores with a decent looking hook. Brooks moves into range and connects with a jab. stevens lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Brooks circles away quickly and effectively. Eli Brooks is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. stevens tries to clinch up but Brooks circles away and keeps his distance. stevens swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! stevens misses with a double jab.

Brooks gets a takedown into half guard. Brooks could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. stevens has hold of Brooks's hands but Brooks slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. stevens is breathing heavily. Brooks is sneakily working for an arm triangle but stevens sees it coming and defends easily. stevens is staying active underneath Brooks, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's one minute gone in the round. stevens keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Brooks sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. stevens defending well though. Brooks trying to control the action but stevens is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brooks is taking a breather. stevens says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Brooks is keen to just control but stevens is a slippery customer.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Brooks thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Brooks is just content to waste time from the top position. stevens takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Brooks postures up in stevens's guard and throws a big left but stevens blocks it. Brooks throwing strikes from guard but stevens blocks nicely. Brooks loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brooks trying to control but stevens is working from the bottom. Brooks slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Brooks with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Brooks trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Brooks accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. stevens showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Brooks.
stevens wants to clinch up but Brooks keeps it at a distance.

There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. stevens is looking to clinch. chris stevens is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. stevens is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Brooks feints and as stevens raises his hands in defense, Brooks changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Brooks has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Brooks working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Brooks trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Brooks trying to control the position from guard on top but stevens is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. stevens is looking to stand up but Brooks isn't so interested in that idea. Eli Brooks overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Brooks throwing strikes from guard but stevens blocks nicely. Brooks closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Brooks scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Brooks lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Brooks working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on stevens's thigh. stevens counters though and makes it back to full guard. Brooks trying to control but stevens is working from the bottom. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brooks sitting in guard, not really doing much. Brooks might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Brooks keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of stevens's head. Brooks trying to control but stevens is working from the bottom. Brooks looking to sit in guard and control but stevens gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. stevens would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Brooks wriggles free and stands up. Brooks misses with a double jab.

stevens closes the distance and clinches. stevens escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
stevens tries to clinch but Brooks moves out of range. stevens tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Brooks paws at him with a jab and circles away. Brooks is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in stevens's half guard. Brooks is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so stevens is just riding it out for now. Brooks eventually gives up the hold.
That's three minutes gone in the round. stevens regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Brooks. stevens working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Brooks.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. stevens pushes Brooks off and gets back to his feet.
stevens doesn't manage to clinch there - Brooks circles away.
Brooks looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for stevens! Brooks thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

And that's the end of the fight! Eli Brooks showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Brooks, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
