PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between hank the tank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pitbull Sevla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pitbull Sevla will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, hank the tank!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pitbull Sevla!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
the tank avoids a punch combination nicely.
Sevla throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Sevla throws a hook to the side of the tank's head but the tank sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Sevla lands with a hook. the tank tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
the tank avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

the tank clinches up with Sevla and pushes him back against the cage.
Sevla tries to break free but the tank pushes him back against the cage.
the tank lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Sevla tries to break the clinch but the tank is controlling the position.
Sevla is looking to break free of the clinch but the tank has double underhooks.
Sevla is trying to force a seperation but the tank has the dominant position.

the tank decides to pull guard.
Sevla wants to stand but the tank has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

the tank looking for a guillotine here but Sevla defends easily.
the tank is looking to stand up but Sevla isn't so interested in that idea.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sevla would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Sevla wants to stand and escape but instead the tank has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
the tank won't allow Sevla to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
the tank loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
the tank is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sevla sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
the tank slips a straight right by Sevla.

the tank scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Sevla is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, the tank asserts his dominance and retains side control.
the tank working the head with strikes.

the tank thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Sevla is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sevla is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sevla parries the strikes from the tank easily there. the tank is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Sevla to escape.
Sevla is trying to get back to his feet.

the tank tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
the tank working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
the tank closes the distance and clinches up with Sevla, looking for a takedown. the tank pushes Sevla against the cage but Sevla circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
the tank slips a jab and a cross from Sevla.
Nice takedown defense from Sevla. No joy for the tank on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for hank the tank. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sevla swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
the tank moves forwards but Sevla connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Sevla scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.


It looks like hank the tank has been cut.
the tank is breathing heavily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
the tank fails with a takedown attempt.
the tank takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
The fighters circle momentarily. Sevla darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Sevla swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
the tank swings for the body but Sevla moves out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - the tank looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Sevla throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck the tank on the side of the head.
Sevla stuffs the takedown.
Sevla lands with a nice body punch.
the tank takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Sevla misses with the combination.
the tank closes the distance and clinches up with Sevla, looking for a takedown. the tank pushes Sevla against the cage but Sevla circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Sevla rushes the tank with punches - the tank moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, the tank goes down! Sevla follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pitbull Sevla!
