PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Poor Matt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abraham Valuev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Valuev has chosen TIMATI as his entrance music. Abraham Valuev will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Poor Matt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Abraham Valuev!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Ivan Kurochkin and Valeri Chadov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matt is looking to clinch but Valuev is avoiding it.
Matt throws a head kick that misses.
Nice defenses there by Matt.
Valuev misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Matt.
Valuev goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Valuev will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Matt scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

It looks like Abraham Valuev has been cut.
Valuev takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Matt pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Valuev lands a head shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Matt moves out of range as Valuev strikes.
Matt throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Matt shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Valuev defends it nicely.
Matt tries a head kick but it misses.
Valuev misses with a hook.
Valuev throws a sloppy head kick

and Matt decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Valuev's guard.
Matt stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Valuev swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Matt is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Matt stops Valuev from standing up.
Matt lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Matt wants to pass the guard but Valuev is keeping the position.
Matt stopping the sweep attempt from Valuev.
Matt throws a strike but Valuev rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Matt might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Valuev throws and elbow that misses. Matt uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Valuev's guard. Nice move by Matt!
Matt working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Matt pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Valuev is keeping the position for now.

Valuev pushes Matt off and gets back to his feet.
Matt throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Matt tries a head kick but it misses.
Valuev leaves Matt with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
A jab from Valuev misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Valuev throws a good cross that connects.
Matt shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Valuev but Valuev pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Poor Matt. That's going to take a lot out of him.
No joy there for Matt, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Matt is breathing heavily.
Matt displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Valuev throws out the jab.

Valuev feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Matt sprawling to the canvas! Matt rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Valuev finish him?!

Matt is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Valuev flashes Matt a smile before throwing a beast of a right hand, straight down the pipe. Matt's eyes follow the hand right onto his nose, taking in it's full glory... and then darkness. Matt crumples to the floor! He's out cold! Valuev punches the air and yells at the top of his lungs - yeeeeeeeeeeah!!!! This one is all over!
