The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dubois falls off balance throwing a combination

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
and Penndragon counters by clinching up.

Penndragon has Dubois pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Penndragon pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Dubois tumbling to the mat - Penndragon dives into Dubois's guard.
Penndragon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dubois swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dubois wants to stand and escape but Penndragon is having none of it.
Dubois utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Dubois knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Penndragon on the ground.

Penndragon is stalling in the full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Penndragon accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Dubois is working an open guard so Penndragon takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Dubois throws a right hand that Penndragon ducks under and follows up with a left that Penndragon also avoids with ease.

Dubois throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Penndragon shoots in but Dubois avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Dubois will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Penndragon circles away from the clinch attempt.
Penndragon tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dubois paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Dubois throws a series of punches but Penndragon avoids them all with ease.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Penndragon pulls guard effortlessly.

Dubois got a little sloppy there for a moment and Penndragon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dubois has managed to get both his arms back between Penndragon's legs - danger averted.
Dubois has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Penndragon is proving hard to escape from.

Penndragon is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Chris Dubois has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
