Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between kaylee barker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and jason miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, kaylee barker!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, jason miller!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Daniel Bishop and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

miller scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
miller is looking to take a break and control but barker is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
barker might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
miller scores with a couple of short elbows.
miller working the head with strikes.

miller tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
barker prevents miller from improving position.

miller thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

miller tries for a kimura but barker is defending well.
barker pushes miller away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, miller gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

miller is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, barker has escaped the position, nice work there.

miller wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by barker, who protects the arm well.
miller looks gassed!

miller looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
barker is trying to control miller's posture but miller avoids it.
miller trying to control the action but barker is working from the bottom.
barker is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, miller asserts his dominance and retains side control.
barker is trying to improve his position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
miller slips a jab and a cross from barker.

barker decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

barker looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
miller is looking for a sweep. barker is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

barker wants to stand up but miller has a hold of him and won't allow it.
miller gets full guard.
barker is looking to work some ground and pound but miller has wrist control.

barker got a little sloppy there for a moment and miller has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, barker has managed to get both his arms back between miller's legs - danger averted.
miller keeping moving, preventing barker from controlling successfully.

miller escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. barker gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

barker stands up and waves to miller to follow him.
barker looks to land a left hand but miller moved out of range nicely.

barker looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
barker is trying to control the action in half guard but miller is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
miller is looking to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
barker blocks the strikes from miller.

miller looking for submissions off his back.
barker tries to stand but can't do so whilst miller controls his leg.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that kaylee barker will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


barker has his takedown stuffed

and miller counters with a shoot takedown. barker fights it but they end up in guard.

miller drops back looking for a leg! barker is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and barker manages to kick miller off! miller jumps back into barker's guard.

miller drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and barker dives on top into guard.
barker trying to control the position from guard on top but miller is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
miller is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
barker regains full guard. Nicely done.
barker tries to land a sweep but no joy.

miller throws a big right hand that misses.
barker is trying to keep miller in close.
miller advances position into side control!

miller is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but barker is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

miller tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no miller has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
barker manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
miller trying to pass the guard but barker defending well.
miller stops barker from getting back to his feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
miller is looking to stall here but barker recovers full guard.
barker is trying to keep miller in close.
barker throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

miller is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

miller drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but barker manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now miller has barker in his guard.

barker thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

miller is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
miller striking off his back but it's not causing barker any problems.
miller not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
barker throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as miller works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
barker thows a big elbow that misses.

barker is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

miller is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. barker is aware though and is defending well.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells barker's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
barker controls from within his opponent's guard.

miller is looking for a triangle but barker pushes his legs off easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

jason miller showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! barker's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


barker misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
barker tries to clinch but miller moves out of range.
kaylee barker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
miller tries to close the distance and clinch up but barker swats him away and circles back towards the center.

miller moves into the clinch.
barker wants to get back to striking at distance but miller won't allow it.
barker blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
barker tries to score a body lock takedown but miller shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
barker gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from miller.

miller has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but barker regains guard immediately.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

barker is looking to stand up but miller isn't so interested in that idea.
miller throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

barker is looking to sinch up a triangle. miller throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to barker's body to avoid the submission. barker has instead reached around miller's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! barker arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
