Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Given Payne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven van Velden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Payne might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Lose Yourself. Given Payne looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Payne shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Payne tries to close the distance and clinch but van Velden swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Payne gets caught flat footed, as van Velden shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
van Velden controls from within his opponent's guard.
van Velden makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Payne is breathing heavily.

van Velden passes Payne's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
van Velden stands up from half guard.
van Velden shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Payne's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
van Velden drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and van Velden jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

van Velden's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
van Velden gets to his feet - Payne follows without any prompting.

Payne can't keep his opponent in guard - van Velden advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Payne is trying to defend against the ground and pound but van Velden scores with a couple of nice shots.
van Velden in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Payne tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from van Velden!
