Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Freddie Hans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Tran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Freddie Hans!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dave Tran!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Bruno Lombardi and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hans feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Hans throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Tran works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hans lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Hans trying to control but Tran is working from the bottom.
Hans missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Hans decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Tran, up you get!
Hans scores with a one two! Tran had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Freddie Hans seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hans lands a left and a right that sends Tran crashing to the canvas! Hans dives into mount looking to finish!


Tran is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hans has hold of Tran's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Tran manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Tran is still in real trouble! Can Hans finish him?
Tran tries to lock up and control but Hans gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Tran is wriggling around trying to escape.
Tran seems to have recovered his senses.

Hans is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Tran can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Tran tries to hold on but Hans postures up.

Hans has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

BOOM! Hans connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Hans swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Tran is now in Hans's guard. A big mistake from Hans there, giving up the dominant position!

Hans had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Tran is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Hans Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Tran's back instead.

Tran is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Hans scores with punches and elbows.
Hans lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Tran.
Hans is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Tran. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
Tran is keeping busy.

Hans wants to control the position but Tran frees himself and scrambles - Hans manages to regain control in side control.

Hans scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Tran to see if he's OK.
Hans cracks Tran with a big right hand but Tran just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Hans tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Hans wants to control but Tran is keeping him busy.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tran wants to control but Hans postures up.
Tran tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hans wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hans tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Tran changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hans looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Tran misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Tran is pressing down on Hans's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hans is holding on for now.
Tran is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Hans manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Tran manages to get himself to full guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tran can do anything to dispel that myth.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Tran can't keep his opponent in guard - Hans advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Freddie Hans overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Tran is doing well to control the position and prevent Hans from advancing to side control.

Hans is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Hans will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That's time! Hans's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Hans tries to clinch but Tran is having none of it.
Hans connects with a solid leg kick.
Hans cracks Tran with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Tran tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Hans pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Tran is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:12 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Freddie Hans!
