Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Bays (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leopold Raskalnikov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Leopold Raskalnikov will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bobby Bays!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Leopold Raskalnikov!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Valeri Chadov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Raskalnikov throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
A slow jab from Bays misses its intended target.
Nice takedown defense from Raskalnikov. No joy for Bays on that attempt.
Raskalnikov tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bays was well out of range. Poor timing from Raskalnikov.
Bays lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
A jab from Raskalnikov finds it's way through Bays's defenses.

Raskalnikov wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Bays.

Bays jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Raskalnikov is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Raskalnikov and Bays has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Bays takes a little break here. Raskalnikov wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bays tries to stand but Raskalnikov controls the position and pulls Bays into his guard.
Bays might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Bays uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Raskalnikov.

Bays closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Raskalnikov is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Bays's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Bays's back!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Bays shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Raskalnikov's guard.

You get the feeling that Bays really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Raskalnikov is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Bays is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Bays prevents any damage by holding on tight.
Bays tries to reverse the position but Raskalnikov maintains control.

Bays is looking to improve his position but Raskalnikov isn't that keen on the idea.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Bays is working hard here to advance position.

Raskalnikov has hold of Bays's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Bays manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Raskalnikov prevents Bays from getting the reversal.
Bays wants to hold on but Raskalnikov pushes him away.
Bays is looking to get to half guard.

Raskalnikov has control of Bays's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Bays regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Raskalnikov can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Bays is looking to escape.

Bays is trying desperately to improve position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Raskalnikov is trying to stick to Bays's back but Bays is turning into Raskalnikov. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Raskalnikov's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Bays.

Bays feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Raskalnikov is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Nice uppercut lands for Bays. That snapped Raskalnikov's head back.

Bays shoots in looking for a takedown. Raskalnikov tries to sprawl out of it but Bays keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Raskalnikov manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Bays decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Raskalnikov's guard.

Bobby Bays overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bays throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Raskalnikov works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bobby Bays.
I think Raskalnikov has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
