Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Remus Jacobs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Corey Bigs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Jacobs might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Nick Cave - The Mercy Seat. Bigs has chosen Danko Jones - Lovercall as his entrance music. Corey Bigs has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Remus Jacobs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Corey Bigs! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Emerson Jorge and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bigs shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jacobs pinned against the cage. Jacobs gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Bigs scores a takedown into full mount! Bigs pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
It looks like Remus Jacobs has been cut. Bigs lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Jacobs takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Bigs with the ground and pound from mount. Jacobs is desperately trying to improve his position but Bigs has a good base and remains in mount. Jacobs knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bigs on the ground. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Bigs cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Jacobs is rocked! Jacobs on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jacobs tries to get out of the position. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bigs lands a nice shot to the head. Oh Jacobs is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Bigs in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Bigs is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Jacobs can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Jacobs's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Jacobs seems to have got his legs back now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bigs working for a submission but Jacobs is keeping him at bay. Jacobs is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Bigs lands a big shot there that rocks Jacobs but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Bigs lands an elbow. Bigs throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Jacobs tries to get back to half guard but can't. Bigs landing a few strikes. Jacobs tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bigs wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Bigs has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Bigs tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bigs has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jacobs struggling a bit here. Bigs swings around for an armbar but Jacobs sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Bigs's guard. Bigs looks gassed! Jacobs would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Jacobs trying to control but Bigs is working from the bottom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bigs is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Horrible takedown by Bigs or perhaps it was just good defense by Jacobs which made him look bad. Jacobs throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Remus Jacobs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Corey Bigs. Bigs scores with a takedown into Jacobs's guard. Bigs loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Bigs postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. That's one minute gone in the round. Jacobs tries to land a sweep but no joy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bigs thows a big elbow that misses. Bigs working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Bigs trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Jacobs is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Bigs fails to land the takedown. Bigs is breathing heavily. Bigs shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Bigs showed some decent athleticism there. Jacobs is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bigs missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Bigs sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Jacobs defending well though. Bigs scoring with strikes to the body and head. Bigs stops Jacobs from getting back to his feet.

I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Bigs is looking for a kimura here.

Jacobs wants to sweep but no luck. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bigs accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Bigs postures up in Jacobs's guard and throws a big left but Jacobs blocks it. Bigs stopping the sweep attempt from Jacobs. Bigs keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Jacobs's head. Bigs looking to pass the guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Bigs shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Jacobs throws a nice looking combination but Bigs bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Jacobs misses with a two punch combination.
Remus Jacobs is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Jacobs thows a body shot but no joy. Jacobs throws a wild body kick that Bigs sees coming a mile off. Bigs shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Jacobs tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Bigs feints and as Jacobs raises his hands in defense, Bigs changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Jacobs wants to stand and escape but Bigs is having none of it. Bigs postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Jacobs working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Bigs. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bigs shoots for a double leg takedown but Jacobs sprawls well. He's pushed Bigs's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Jacobs scores with a body shot.

Jacobs is trying to improve his position. Bigs grinds an elbow into Jacobs's temple. Bigs takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Bigs thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Jacobs manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
That's one minute gone in the round. Jacobs tries to stand but can't do so whilst Bigs controls his leg. Jacobs will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Bigs moves into full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. A combination from Jacobs does no damage. Corey Bigs is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Bigs misses with a takedown attempt - Jacobs sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. A big left from Jacobs misses. Jacobs stuffs the takedown. Bigs shoots in and drives through. Jacobs sprawls well. Jacobs moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Bigs shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jacobs as he avoids it easily. Corey Bigs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jacobs throws a head kick that Bigs semi-blocks.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Remus Jacobs. I think Bigs has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
