Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mac Avelli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Fisher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Avelli checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Avelli slips a jab and a cross from Fisher.
Avelli circles away from the clinch attempt.

Avelli has closed the distance and engaged Fisher in a clinch.
Fisher is trying to break the clinch but Avelli is controlling him.

Fisher pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Avelli looks to land a body kick but Fisher moved away.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Avelli shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Fisher looks to throw the jab but Avelli is out of range.
Avelli tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Fisher tries to work over Avelli's front leg with a kick but Avelli checks it.
Fisher throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Fisher tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Avelli paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Avelli throws the kick towards the body but Fisher avoids it.
John Fisher seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fisher throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Avelli slips a straight right by Fisher.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Fisher crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Avelli - the referee stops the clock and Fisher gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Avelli. Fisher manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Avelli tries to close the distance and clinch but Fisher swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Fisher throws the left hand but Avelli avoids the punch easily.

and Avelli counters with a three punch combo that has Fisher backing up. Fisher nods at Avelli to acknowledge the strikes.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

John Fisher's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Fisher wants to break free but Avelli has control.

A nice glancing elbow lands by Avelli.
Avelli using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Fisher has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
