Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Charlie Wingfield! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, nyf nyf! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wingfield takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Wingfield misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. nyf with a poor takedown and Wingfield counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Wingfield. Wingfield trying to control but nyf is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wingfield working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Wingfield controls from within his opponent's guard. nyf looking to control.
Wingfield stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. nyf swivels though and keeps the full guard. Wingfield is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. nyf looking to control.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Wingfield throws a right and a left that nyf avoids nicely. Wingfield throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Wingfield pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Wingfield fails with an attempt to clinch.
nyf falls off balance throwing a combination
and Wingfield counters with a nice double leg into guard. nyf really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wingfield. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. nyf trying to keep a closed guard but Wingfield is proving a slippery customer.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wingfield is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Wingfield stands and steps away. nyf gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. nyf with a hook. nyf lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Wingfield backs up against the cage.
It looks like Charlie Wingfield has been cut. Wingfield is breathing heavily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! nyf gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Wingfield counters with a takedown into side control. Wingfield working the ground and pound from side control. nyf tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Wingfield wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Wingfield has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for nyf! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. nyf tries to hold on but Wingfield pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wingfield is working for a guillotine from mount but nyf frees his head quite easily.
nyf tries to get back to half guard but can't. Wingfield sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Wingfield lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Wingfield landing strikes, looking to finish! Wingfield controlling from mount. Wingfield avoids the attempt from nyf to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. nyf is looking to get to half guard. A nice elbow there by Wingfield. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Wingfield working away from the top, dropping strikes. nyf working to try and regain half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Charlie Wingfield dominated that round. The cut man is working on Charlie Wingfield's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
nyf fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
nyf with a lazy takedown attempt and Wingfield moves into the clinch. nyf taking a breather. Wingfield prevents a takedown attempt there.
Wingfield is looking for a takedown up against the cage. nyf gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Wingfield goes for a takedown in the clinch but nyf prevents it.
Wingfield tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. nyf smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Charlie Wingfield. That's going to take a lot out of him. nyf with a lazy takedown attempt and Wingfield makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. nyf really felt that one! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. nyf has his takedown stuffed and Wingfield counters with a shoot takedown. nyf fights it but they end up in guard. Wingfield slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Wingfield scoring with strikes to the body and head. Wingfield is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. nyf tries to get to full guard but Wingfield has control of the leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Wingfield is trying to work for a kimura but nyf is defending well.
Wingfield is keen to just control but nyf is a slippery customer. Wingfield is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

nyf might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Wingfield kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. nyf tries for a takedown but Wingfield circles away easily and Wingfield counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in nyf's guard now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wingfield wants to control from the top but nyf keeps moving. nyf wants to sweep but no luck. nyf avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. nyf looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Wingfield sitting in guard here, content to control. Wingfield slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wingfield lands a jab. Wingfield throws a front kick that sends nyf stumbling back into the cage. Wingfield thows a body kick. nyf tries to catch it but that hurt him. Wingfield throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. nyf was covering up waiting for the punch and Wingfield finishes the takedown easily into guard. Wingfield trying to control the position from guard on top but nyf is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Both fighters are breathing heavily. nyf avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Wingfield looking to pass the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. nyf is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. nyf is looking for a triangle here but Wingfield uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if nyf can do anything to dispel that myth. nyf trying to remain calm as Wingfield controls from the top position. nyf is not content to let Wingfield control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Wingfield wants to stand but nyf has his arm trapped. nyf struggling a bit here. Wingfield wants to control but nyf is keeping him busy. nyf wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

And that's the end of the fight! Charlie Wingfield showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Wingfield, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
