The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Face with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Thomas lands a nice hook to Face's body. Face takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Thomas misses with an uppercut. Face saw that one coming.
Face loads up on a big right hand but Thomas slips the punch.
A shot to the body from Face misses
and Thomas counters with a nice uppercut.
Face swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Thomas makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Thomas misses the shot to the body.

Thomas fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Face, pushing him back against the cage.
Face lands a left hand.
Thomas swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Thomas lands a left hand that snaps the head of Face backwards.
Thomas fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Thomas lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Thomas blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
A right handed body shot lands from Thomas.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Thomas content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Thomas tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Face tries to circle away but Thomas has him pinned against the cage.
Thomas misses with some punches.
Thomas prevents a body shot from Face.
Face tries a body shot but Thomas blocks it.
Face digs a right hand underneath Thomas's ribcage. Thomas let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Thomas escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A jab from Face misses.
Face throws a hook but Thomas blocks it.
A combination from Thomas does no damage.
Nice uppercut lands for Thomas. That snapped Face's head back.
Face swinging wildly here.
Face throws a jab but it's blocked by Thomas.
Face throws a looping overhand right but Thomas ducks down to avoid it.

Thomas drops Face with a beautiful combination! Face stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Thomas is looking for the KO!

Face is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Thomas slips under a jab.
Face is still on wobbly legs! Can Thomas finish him?
Face throws a nice looking combination but Thomas bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Face seems to have recovered his senses.
Thomas dips to his left and cracks Face with an uppercut!
Thomas fails in his attempt to clinch.
A telegraphed right hand from Face misses the target.
Thomas lands a jab to Face's midsection.
Danga de danga de dang - Thomas scores with a four punch combination!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

enabling Face to counter with a crisp jab.

and Thomas counters with a nice uppercut.
Face takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Razor Face seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thomas moves away from the strike by Face.
Face throws a lazy right hand but Thomas sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Thomas feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Face sprawling to the canvas! Face rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Thomas finish him?!

and Thomas scores with a counter punch that sends Face to the canvas! Thomas smells blood - he's punishing Face with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Face has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ash Thomas!
