Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Poppa Ping (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maurice Vachon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vachon has chosen WWE Hall Of Fame Tribute Video as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Poppa Ping!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Maurice Vachon!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vachon slips a jab and a cross from Ping.
Vachon tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ping swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Ping clinches with his opponent.
Ping tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Vachon blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Ping manages to break the clinch.
A combination from Ping does no damage.
Ping tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Vachon swivels and escapes.
Ping defending well as Vachon loads up on a big left hand.
Ping blocks a jab.
Ping throws a right and a left that Vachon avoids nicely.
Ping throws a right and a left that both miss.
Vachon tries to clinch up but Ping circles away and keeps his distance.

Ping forces Vachon back against the cage and clinches.
Vachon fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Vachon throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Ping tries to score a body lock takedown but Vachon shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Vachon is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Ping gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Ping blocks the elbow strike.
Ping looking to throw knees to the head but Vachon is blocking nicely.
Ping tries to land knees in the clinch but Vachon avoids the damage to the body.
Ping dodges an elbow strike from Vachon.
Vachon blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Vachon tries to pull guard but Ping won't allow it.
Poppa Ping has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maurice Vachon.
Ping tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Vachon keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Ping's efforts to push away.

Vachon has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Ping is trying to keep an underhook but Vachon manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Vachon is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ping is trying to escape the mount.

Vachon has control of Ping's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Ping regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Ping is in all sorts of trouble here.

Vachon swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Ping is now in Vachon's guard. A big mistake from Vachon there, giving up the dominant position!
Ping with a nice head shot there.

Vachon working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ping doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ping manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Ping throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Ping wants to control from the top but Vachon keeps moving.
Ping postures up.
Ping has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Ping with a flurry of punches that miss.

Ping gets to his feet. Vachon looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Ping swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Vachon has managed to clinch.
Vachon lands an elbow inside.
Ping prevents the takedown attempt.
Ping prevents a takedown attempt there.
Ping with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Ping tries to break free but Vachon pushes him back against the cage.
Vachon tries for a takedown. No joy.
Ping stalling in the clinch but Vachon improves position.
Ping unloads a knee to the mid-section. Vachon lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Ping is breathing heavily.
Vachon takes an elbow to the temple.
Ping connects with a nasty looking knee right to Vachon's face.

Ping looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Danga de danga de dang - Ping scores with a four punch combination!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ping tries to close the distance and clinch up but Vachon swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Ping is looking to clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Vachon dodges the punch combination from Ping.

Vachon fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ping, pushing him back against the cage.
Vachon has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Ping is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Ping lands a knee to the head.
Ping throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Vachon blocks it with crossed arms.
Ping blocks an elbow strike from Vachon.
Vachon drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Ping tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Ping tightens his grip and picks Vachon up, before dumping him to the ground. Vachon manages to land in guard.
Ping wants to get up but he can't break Vachon's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Vachon manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Ping working to try and regain half guard.
Ping is working hard here to advance position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Vachon working Ping over with strikes here.

Vachon jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Ping is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Ping and Vachon has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Ping is trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vachon wants to control but Ping is keeping him busy.
Ping gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Ping might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Vachon is looking to take a break and control but Ping is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Poppa Ping dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Ping tries to clinch up

and Vachon counters by clinching up.
Ping wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Vachon has him pressed against the cage.
Vachon tries for a takedown. No joy.
Ping wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Ping tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Ping throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Ping here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Vachon tries to score a body lock takedown but Ping shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Ping escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Ping drops Vachon with a right and a left! Ping comes rushing in but Vachon regains his composure and manages to keep Ping in guard.


It looks like Maurice Vachon has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ping cracks Vachon with a solid left hand.
Ping forces his way into half guard.
Vachon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ping. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ping is nestled in close to Vachon, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Vachon looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Ping throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Vachon keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Vachon can do anything to dispel that myth.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Ping lands a nice short elbow.
Ping throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Ping looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Ping is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Vachon is just riding it out for now. Ping eventually gives up the hold.
Ping thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Vachon's head.

Vachon is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ping pulls his head out easily.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ping connects with a nice short shot to Vachon's temple.

Poppa Ping overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Ping moves into full mount! Vachon won't be happy about that!

Ping looking to control but Vachon is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The referee warns Vachon that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Ping has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Vachon's face.


Vachon is rocked!
Vachon takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Ping's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
