The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Katanec avoids a punch combination nicely.
Katanec misses with a takedown attempt - Jelani sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Katanec shoots for a double leg takedown but Jelani sprawls well. He's pushed Katanec's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Nice takedown defense from Katanec. No joy for Jelani on that attempt.

Katanec is looking for a sweep.
Katanec is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Jelani has just dragged him back down to the mat.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Katanec misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Jelani.

Jelani has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Katanec avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Katanec is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Katanec is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jabari Jelani will probably get the nod.
